Oh, great, let's tell the story of the Alliance from the Horde perspective. Yes, let's even give the Horde credit for creating the Alliance. /rolleyes Just because the Alliance is aligned against the Horde (to some extent) doesn't mean there would be no Alliance otherwise. But in a time of war, yes, of course it's going to be centered around facing down the common enemy. How about an article that doesn't reveal a pro-Horde bias? Would that be too much to ask?

This article wasn't "pro-Horde" at all, and was completely factual. If saying that the Alliance was formed because the Horde raged across Azeroth juiced up on bloodlust, wanting to exterminate the citizens of Azeroth is "pro-Horde", I'd hate to see what you think the cons of the Horde are. The Alliance may be held together by other things now, such as the Burning Legion, the Lich King, and loyalty, but the Alliance in its original form was crafted in order to defend against the Horde. There's just no other way of cutting it, and it's not a bad thing.

I kind of like the idea of the horde having created their own worst enemy.

Yeah as a dedicated Horde player I... don't really see any bias in this article towards my faction. It all seemed pretty cut and dry. Just the facts. Now had -I- been responsible for writing it? You bet your ass it'd be slanted to all hell and I'd make the Alliance sound like the ignorant, racist, phobic ape-men I think they are. :)Hehe.

There's in-game lore in the Black Morass instance that says the Alliance would have never formed if the Horde hadn't invaded, and in fact the races that would become the Alliance would start a civil war, leaving them divided for the inevidible return of the legion. If the Horde was expendable, we wouldn't have to go to the Black Morass to help Medivh open the portal, or to Durnholde to save Thrall and created the New Horde.

Not to burst your self-righteous bubble, but Matt plays Alliance almost exclusively (because I do - and I'm his wife). He does occasionally play Horde because he has a great guild of IRL friends to do so with, but his primary toons are all Alliance-side.

Self-righteous? I would think that title would go to the person who insults a poster for disagreeing with the thrust of the article her husband wrote.

Calling someone self-righteous isn't an insult, it's a criticism.

"Just because the Alliance is aligned against the Horde (to some extent) doesn't mean there would be no Alliance otherwise."Okay, that may be the stupidest statement I've ever seen on this site.An alliance is formed to counter an enemy. If there is no enemy, there is no alliance. Every single alliance that has ever existed or ever will exist has some particular enemy whose existence is precisely the cause for the alliance to exist, and said alliance would not exist if not for that enemy. So, yes, there would be no Alliance otherwise. If you disagree, it means you're deeply confused about what the word "alliance" means...

Hey buddy, last time I checked, WE were capable of closing our jaws shut. That is all.P.S.: given the actions of the militant core of Orc society, our racism seems entirely justified.
