"Every time I kill his son I forget to ask High Overlord Saurfang when the doors to the next wing will be down. Soon?"
It should be soon, but we don't really know for sure. Our collective gut says it will open this upcoming Tuesday, but Muradin and Saurfang still say 28 days until it opens. It hasn't changed since Day 1. Blizzard will just flip the switch whenever they please, we figure.

"I recently did the epic druid flight form quest. Spoiler alert, it revolved a lot around the emerald dream. Turns out the raven lord was causing problems. At the end of the quest I killed him. Does that mean I fixed the emerald dream? Is there no possibility of the emerald expansion because of a class only quest that fixed the whole problem?"
Just because the raven lord was causing problems in the Emerald Dream does not mean the raven lord was the only one causing problems in the Emerald Dream. You just dealt with that particular issue. We really don't have any clear idea of what's going on in the Dream beyond the fact that it's bad, and it's screwing with the Green Dragonflight.
Of course, that being said, Malfurion is making his comeback to our realm in Cataclysm. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't just throw their arms up in the air and say, "Okay, the Emerald Dream is fixed now!" So I'm pretty sure Malfurion is just under the impression that what's happening on Azeroth takes precedence, leaving Ysera and Cenarius to deal with the Nightmare themselves. I'm sure you can guess where that's going for them.

"I remember reading in one of the loading screen "tips" something to the effect that "while players can make critical strikes, enemy mobs cannot." Again, over-exposed photographic memory film may be playing a huge part in my confusion, but... did I seriously misread it, or is the tip wrong? Maybe it only meant spell crits or special attack crits or something like that... don't know. Just hoping somebody else remembers that tip a bit more accurately and can de-confuse me."
Yeah, you're just misremembering the tip slightly. Mobs cannot crit with spells, but they can crit with any physical strikes. For example, a skeleton punching you in the face will land a crit now and then if you don't have the proper defense rating. A skeleton casting fireballs at you will never, ever crit, even if you're butt naked. That is, until they run out of mana and run up to you to start the whole face punching thing.

"Is T10 going to be the final tier of armour before Cataclysm? If there will be no more tier gear, how likely is it that we'll see any new armour at ilevels higher than we can currently get in ICC?Is T10 going to be the final tier of armour before Cataclysm? If there will be no more tier gear, how likely is it that we'll see any new armour at ilevels higher than we can currently get in ICC?"
I think it's too early to predict what absolutely will happen, but as far as we know, Blizzard's plan is to end with Tier 10. Not only have they pretty clearly said Icecrown will be the last major raid zone in Wrath of the Lich King, but we've seen some pretty nasty gear inflation due to the developers already needing to sneak in an extra tier of gear for how they handled hard modes. I'm pretty sure that if we were handed some Tier 11 before the end of the expansion, Azeroth would explode.
They have mentioned that we might get one or two one-shot raid bosses to herald the incoming Cataclysm just to keep us busy, similar to things like Onyxia, Gruul and Malygos. If we do get something like that, I personally expect the epics we get there will be aimed towards leveling in Cataclysm rather than elevating us to even higher ilevels.
Niennee asked...
"When did the portal area in TB (with the priest/mage/inscription trainers) become mountable? It always annoyed me that I had to run out of the cave to mount up, yet the other day I went through the portal in Dalaran on my mount and was pleasantly surprised to see myself not get dismounted on the other side. Is this some stealth change or did I just miss the announcement?"
Whoa, whoa, whoa. I think a better question is why does the Horde get to mount up by the portals in Dalaran? As a primarily Alliance player, I call BS!
Okay, not really. In all seriousness, I have no idea when this happened.

Given that ever since TBC, the Alliance and Horde have been working together, and continuing into WOTLK, and doubtless again in Cataclysm, isn't it about time that Alliance and Horde players were able to speak with one another? That would be a truly cataclysmic shake up of the game. Even if it was only lvl 85 instances that allowed Alliance and Horde players to group up, it would be awesome :)

They tried that briefly in the beta. It's an incredibly terrible idea.
The language barrier is vital to the game. Not just because it fosters a sense of community within each faction, but because it keeps you from having to read the insults that your opponents would like to send you.

With the new Battle.net you will be able to communicate with people on your friends list regardless of what faction, server, or even game they're currently playing, be it Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, or WoW, so yes, you will be able to talk to the Horde.

I was pretty disappointed that they pretty much undid all the Horde-Alliance happylovefdesting that took place in WC3, but I guess temporary alliances break up all the time too. The very nature of the whole Warcraft franchise requires distinct sides to face off against each other. Personally, I would have liked it to be a little less simplistic than us vs. them, but maybe next time.
The persoanlity given to characters like Garrosh and Varian is just to help justify continued animosity when any reasonable person would drop his petty racist squabbles and band together like the good old days. Well, good old day.

When people say thrall is in level 40 greens, what do they mean exactly?
Al Jan 1st 2010 1:23AM
There's level 40 green gear that looks like Thrall's, which can take away from his mystique. Pretty sure Jaina's staff has a recycled equivalent somewhere as well.
SpaceGoatPriest Jan 1st 2010 1:24AM
The armor/gear Thrall is wearing is not "high level". That is hat they mean (at least I think that is what they mean).
Skarlette Jan 1st 2010 6:11PM
Jaina's staff uses the model from the Illusionary Rod that drops from Arcanist Doan in the library of Scarlet Monastery.

with dwarf shamans presumably coming in the new expansion, would this mean that the Wildhammer dwarf clan is finally offcially becoming a part of the alliance and thus uniting with the current Bronzebeard clan of Ironforge? or do you think that they will become a separate faction linked towards the alliance like the Frostborn dwarves are currently?

I have a question about gear score, how do I get people to understand that a item is not better simply because it has a higher gearscore and that you have to look at all your gear and make sure you are properly itemized as well? I had to turn off trade chat, and running randoms for the 2 frosties daily is becoming horrid...you only have 3.2k gs how dare you be in my CoS (which incidentally is where your upgrades are). I know it is ridiculously easy to get geared now, but still people have to start somewhere, the 2 frosties are our payment for running them through to get gear and badges.

Ah, Alex, Cenarius is dead. ^_^; It's really only Lady Ysera and Malfurion looking after most of the Emerald Dream. :3

Hey got question did anyone notice back by the rear entrance of orgrimmar when 3.3 first came out there was like a bunch stacks of black metal bars floating in mid air and peons walking around(I think there was suppose to be a wagon under them but there was none.. glitch maybe). I was thinking maybe this is just showing that things were going to change in orgrimmar in the new expansion but it was glitched just cause everything was glitching after the patch.
Well I went back there today to see if they fixed it and if anything been added since i was back there last and when I look nothing was there but the old npcs. Did I see some phasing that wasn't ready yet or did blizzard just pulled it cause it was glitching out. Hope someone else saw it.

I've never done any hard mode bosses, but I'm curious how the attempts system works. I've never seen anyone spell out how that actually works, everyone just assumes you know. So, question: how do you lose attempts? Do you lose one every time someone dies, or only when the raid wipes and the encounter resets?

Is there a way to search through comments on wow.com? What about search for a person's profile?
Sometimes I see a comment I want to check out the responses later on, but it's hard to find it after the article has gone a few pages off the front page. If there is an easy way to get to profiles, I could just remember the commenter's name and put it in the search box. The thing is the link for profiles has a generic profile ID (?), so I can't just craft an easy link. Example, an easy link would be: http://www.wow.com/profile/Thander/ but instead it has some random number.

Someone told me that they are removing old world raids. Is this true?
That would make sense with me for MC being that the zone is getting a remodel but I love my AQ. I'm sure there will be massive nerd rage if we loose the zone with the coolest mounts in the game, Im talking the battle tanks.

Since Trolls are reportedly getting to choose druid in the expansion
do you think we might see new feral forms?
i would INSTANTLY race change to troll if they had Raptor form instead of cat and Devilsaur instead of Bear
the level of pure awesome that would reach would be unmeasurable imo
