The Moviewatch 2009 Highlight Reel, pt II
4. Ulduar by Cranius and Summergale
It's really, really hard to pick out a single video by Cranius. He released his album this year, as well as collaborating with new partners to create several new styles. But since Ulduar was one of the first, I'll start with that. It was a newer musical style for Cranius, but I think he nailed it pretty hard. Summergale seemed to step up her game also. This video was released just a few weeks before the instance hit the ground, and was a great trailer for both the Ulduar raid and Cranius himself. The video itself was created by Legs, who always does amazing work.
5. Ravenholdt Labyrinth
2009 was definitely the year when Gigi really came out of her shell. A half dozen songs and movies later, Gigi is a well-known, successful machinima star. I think Ravenholdt Labyrinth represents her best collaboration, though. It was an innovative, creative Halloween adventure in which the viewer chose their own path through a dungeon. Complete with moments of horror and shock, Ravenholdt will surely be revisited every year.
6. The Avenger

The Avenger was one of the year's biggest action films. Astoundingly beautiful and well-choreographed, The Avenger seems like the heir-apparent to the flash and polish of Craft of War: BLIND. Not only was The Avenger a beautiful movie to watch, but it actually had a decent plot. If there's such a thing as machinima blockbusters, The Avenger was one of them.
