The first time I tanked Halls was in a pug and on my alt. I asked the other players to judge whether or not I was geared for it; they decided to try and see. Only one wipe, and we were through. Such a relief.
I healed the instance for the first time on my main today -- there's a lot more room for finesse in that role, as tanking and DPS seem locked into cleaving a crowd of undead. Halls' ambiance and its narrative are picture-perfect, but was it Blizzard's intention to equate challenge with volume? Deathwhisper's first phase has a certain elegance to it; Halls' ten waves of Lordaeron ghosts really don't.
