Bornakk has just announced that Arena Season 7 is about to end. The planned end date is
January 19. Avoid or delay any realm transfer plans on your arena characters until the process is over if you think you can obtain an arena-specific title and/or the
Relentless Gladiator's Frostwyrm. During the one week grace period after the end of the season, rated matches will not be in effect.
Season 8 is expected to start one week after the current season ends, which means we expect it to begin on January 26. When the new season begins,
your team ratings, personal ratings and arena points will be wiped clean. Your matchmaking rating and honor points will be untouched.
This also means that Toravon the Ice Watcher will be available to us soon. He is the fourth (and final) boss in the Vault of Archavon.
Good luck to those of you who are competing for the rewards!

So we will be able to get Rentless from badges and honor now? Bah, my ilvl 200 PvP gear is getting more useless every day.
AutumnBringer Jan 5th 2010 2:42PM
If I could get [Rentless Apartment] from PvPing, that would surely push the motivation to a whole new level :)

Oh son of a...
I instinctively clicked [Relentless Apartment] to get the item information pop-up. I think I've been playing too much recently.

*Relentless
Grrr for not being able to edit my comment.

Hopefully we will see some new gear available for purchase with Wintergrasp marks

Toravon is the final boss. Really?
That doesn't make VoA map complete. At least they should add one more boss to Toravon's opposite chamber.
In fact, that VoA tunnel can be extended the same fashion as long as they want to, until it reaches China :-)

Yeah, but eventually they'd run out of elements and we'd start seeing some weird stuff. LFG Mrglgon the Fish Watcher.
ash Jan 5th 2010 5:39PM
Either that or Sterculius the Crap Watcher.
Barinthos Jan 5th 2010 2:11PM
Well if they're keeping with the element trend then 4 is all there really is. Unless they want to go with Shadow, Light/Holy and Arcane, but I think that would be a bit much.
But if this is the last boss, I'm saddened they didn't give him a more original name. Like Steve.
Paisley Jan 5th 2010 3:59PM
What kind of a rapping name is Steve?
jfofla Jan 5th 2010 2:12PM
There can only be four bosses. Earth, Wind, Fire and WATER....
Jon Jan 5th 2010 2:14PM
Heart!
Jason Jan 5th 2010 2:21PM
Ah, Captain Planet jokes. If there were a 5th boss Blizz would almost be obligated to riff off Captain Planet and make him the Watcher of Holy/Light...maybe reskin Loken gold or something.
Dan Jan 5th 2010 2:21PM
By your powers combined, I AM CAPTAIN PLANET!!
Barinthos Jan 5th 2010 2:22PM
Wasn't Captain Planet blue and red though? And what would his name be? Capplanevon?
bleuchz Jan 5th 2010 2:16PM
I don't remember seeing any write ups on Toravon, anyone know what his gimmicks are?

Should give you some tips!
Azizrael Jan 5th 2010 2:16PM
Shadow would complete the set based on the elementals.

So does this also mean that people who earned arena points via the battleground daily will have their points erased too? you only earn them at a mere 25 points per day... whats the point in rewarding them if one can never earn enough just playing battlegrounds to purchase epic weapons/gear?
jfofla Jan 5th 2010 2:29PM
I had 4000 Arena Points erased, and will never get sucked into that scam again.
