The Queue: Why won't you move, Mr. Bubbles?

Before I get to your questions today, I have a question for all of you. What kind of dirty monster do you need to be to harvest the Little Sisters in Bioshock? My word, they're adorable. I mean, I have no problem playing jerky characters in games, but I physically could not hit the K key while looking at one of those poor little things. You people running around murdering them willy nilly should be ashamed of yourselves. You know who you are. I'm watching you.
And now we actually discuss the game this blog is named for. Fancy that.
Radioted asked...
"Is there any word on who does the voice for Krick? Every time I run PoS, I can't help but hear Wallace Shawn in the role."
Blizzard very rarely discusses who does voice acting work for them, which I find incredibly disappointing. I'm a massive VA nerd, so I love going through credits like that. So no, we don't know who voices Krick. I'm fairly certain it isn't Wallace Shawn, though. It's incredibly close, but there's something that doesn't quite match up. Wallace's voice is just a notch lighter than Krick. I could certainly be wrong, but I don't think so. Just watch the video embedded below, or go watch Toy Story. Wallace's freak-out voice doesn't line up with Krick's freak-out voice.

"With the introduction of turning off experience, is it practical to form a level 60 or 70 guild to do vanilla and BC raids? I am speaking as far as talents go, would healers and tanks have the skills necessary to get enough people through any of those raids? I suppose it might have more application for BC raids due to the fact that getting 40 level 60s might be problematic."
Clearing that content at level 60 is more viable in Wrath of the Lich King than it was in Vanilla WoW. The new talents and abilities we've gained over the years blow our vanilla versions of ourselves out of the water, and you have them no matter which expansion you have installed or where you paused your leveling. You'll have fewer talents points at 60 than you would at 80, but the talents available to you are still better than they used to be. If you can get the people, you can clear the content. There are old school raids running stuff all over the place, you just need to look for them.

"How could you promote Sacco after he admitted to liking both Lady Gaga albums?"
Liking Lady Gaga is actually one of the prerequisites for working here. If you don't like Lady Gaga, I automatically don't like you. Sorry guys, no exceptions. Not even if you bribe me. Keep this in mind, applicants.
(Okay, maybe if you bribe me.)

"I heard a while ago that Battlegrounds were going to offer competitive loot so people wouldn't have to do arenas. Any news?"
This is going to be one of Cataclysm's big features and was discussed at BlizzCon 2009. Cataclysm will bring a rated, competitive battleground system that will award viable gear just like the arena does. Up until this point, Blizzard never had a system that could accurately gauge performance in battlegrounds, so they used the arena system to control the flow of PvP epics. Cataclysm will change that, and as soon as a beta shows up somewhere, you bet we'll be trying to get more details for all of you.

"When in the name of Lothar is the Wow.com's Class Leveling Guides page going to be updated?"
Hey, look over there! Something totally super shiny!

Shiny? WHERE?!?!
Zalvi24 Jan 5th 2010 3:13PM
i love Lady GaGa............... Question, Why Blizzard dont just make straight foward upgrades for weapons? it sucks to replace a good weapon for the DPS and iLevel, just to get something useless for your class(ret paladin) like ArP when what i got equip had crit
Babaloo Jan 5th 2010 3:30PM
@Zalvi:
Not only did you hijack someone else's comment, it's also downright stupid what you've hijacked it with. Blizzard want to add variety for lots of different builds and makes it really flexible as to what stats you want on each different piece of gear. How fun would it be to just have a linear progression style in gear with no variation and everyone even at the pre-raid level looking exactly the same. Besides, with the sheer amount of different classes, specs etc. it simply doesn't allow there to be on good sword for all the sword wielding classes, nor does it mean it would be any better to give everyone their own class specific sword with no variation whatsoever. I'm sure even at end-game people will have different pieces of gear in some slots to experiment and try out new things and different specs. Moral of the story? Don't hijack posts and don't post stupid things in those hijacks.

oh and BTW what is up with WoW.com voting system? why just not get rid of it at all, just because " oh i dont agree with you /click down vote button " doesnt mean that it deserve it, is useless
Docp Jan 5th 2010 5:11PM
It's funny how the people who complain most about the voting system tend to be the guys who's posts always goes dark.
Anaughtybear Jan 5th 2010 5:46PM
Docp, that's because people are sheep and there are tons of idiots on the internet. Sadly, a lot of them congregate here. Just because it gets down voted doesn't mean it's not correct or viable. Most of the things that get three stars are complete troll fanboy comments like Chuck Norris jokes. Anything people can recognize as a movie reference or is about there favored class gets shined up while any unpopular opinion gets a witch burning. And as per usual, commenters: Suck it.
Docp Jan 5th 2010 6:22PM
I've seen worse communities for over-reactions mindless sheep. Generally when a post is down-rated it's either because the person is aggressive, rude or just generally not posting correctly (I.e. comment hijacking, asking questions that are answered literally every week, all caps, First!, etc). Unpopular opinions can and do get uprated if the person is polite and explains their view.
As for jokes and references often getting up-rated I see no problem with that, usually they're relevant to the topic and tend to be entertaining, I see no surprise in things that make people laugh tend to get voted up.

Ooooh, shiny . . . hey!

super shiny, eh?

Dance studios? Still coming? I am sick and tired of doing the "Hammer" or head banging.
Sehvekah Jan 5th 2010 6:54PM
Yes, but it's a low priority. Don't expect it until Cataclysm(I personally don't expect to see it before 4.2, but if it show up earlier, well that'd be awesome).
Yeah, yeah, it sucks waiting, they mentioned it as being a launch feature of Wrath, ect. They just tried to do too much in Wrath and some less important things had to be pushed aside to get it out the door.
artifex Jan 6th 2010 11:15PM
I expect it in 4.1. As in, April 1st. ☺
althalas Jan 5th 2010 3:11PM
You would have killed them too if you had tasted the slug meat. MMMMMMMM...powerful slug meat.
brownyboi Jan 6th 2010 5:20PM
Exactly.
As for "adorable", who are you trying to kid? They're ultra-creepy!
Would you kindly harvest the Little Sister?
Marcosius Jan 6th 2010 6:32AM
But I had cooler tonix and plasmids because I was a good guy. So suck on that, monster.
Hollow Leviathan Jan 6th 2010 6:33AM
Honestly it wasn't even the taste of slug. I find I naturally slide into roleplaying hideously villianous characters. It also makes for a more unique gameplay experience, since few games actually permit you the option to play the dastard.
PS Woo Lady Gaga.
Kigai Jan 5th 2010 3:14PM
Is there anywhere you know of that allows s to look back in the archives of the old talent trees? I am curious to look back on what my build looked raiding mc and bwl.
Murdock Jan 5th 2010 4:01PM
Here are all the old calculators
http://www.wowprovider.com/?talent=1124125_5
As far as old builds, that I don't know.
Scunosi Jan 5th 2010 5:00PM
Omg I was thinking this same thing just yesterday, thank you!
I wanna see how bad things really were for my Feral brethren in the old days.
freeway8989 Jan 6th 2010 1:48AM
Wow, when people say that paladin tanking wasn't viable back them, they really mean it. Talents now make paladin tanks juggernauts. Back then they simply improved spells that we don't even use now.
