Man forced to choose between his wife and his orc

Much to the dismay of geeks everywhere, Cushnie's wife Dee wasn't comfortable sharing her home with a green-skinned orc and threatened to move back to her Canadian homeland if her husband didn't ditch the Horde Warchief. His wife reportedly said that there was "no room for (the orc) in our life," and Cushnie prudently chose Dee, whom he married in February 2009, over the huge statue. "I just don't like it," Dee said, "I'm only 5ft 3in, so it towers over me, which is quite creepy."
The statue was adopted by a couple in Aberdeen, Michael Thomson, 61, and his wife, Patricia, 55, who report that their 16-year old granddaughter is thrilled with the acquisition. "We wanted him because he's so unusual," said Patricia. Robert and Dee will move to Canada later this month sans the orc. "I'll miss him," Cushnie said, "but I'm glad he's gone to a good home." As this little episode proves, not even the most badass orc can mess with marital bliss!

I'd pug a wig on Thrall and get rid of Dee.

Not worth it. Woman is probably a 5/10 and that's being generous.

In response to everyone here who believes that all girlz r so meeen n unsupportiv, I'm a wife of a hardcore raider, and I still call BS on this move. If she knew about the Thrall statue when she married him, it seems unreasonable to tell him he has to immediately get rid of it. It's one thing to dislike a person's car/clothes/giant orc, it's another to strong arm them with a divorce threat. That's just saying "it's my way or the highway". There are important issues (like alcoholism) that are worth giving an intolerant ultimatum over. Thrall? Not so much.
So there, now you have one girl who is pro-WoW, vs the one girl who is against WoW in the article. Given that a lot of you seem willing to rip on 50% of the planet based on the actions of one individual, maybe that balances it out.

I'll agree that there does seem to be a serious lack of communication regarding the statue (i.e. maybe move it to a less visible spot or something to get used to it), but I also don't think that the option of getting rid of the statue should be taken off the table. I mean, if your spouse genuinely doesn't feel comfortable with something, it seems to me that it would be natural to try and eliminate that discomfort.

I like the Two Bosses Enter-esque graphic.
Poor Thrall. Guess he really needs to start upgrading those lvl 40 greens so he doesn't get beaten so easily. Although I don't think even t10 would save him from the wife.

anyone else ever notice how some articles get a ton of comments just because there is no new content for a few hours after they are added?
lolikitty Jan 8th 2010 2:54PM
Could it be because these articles bring many lulz ? Go figure.
Flambert Jan 8th 2010 2:59PM
And it wasn't a toy shop it was in it was a tattoo parlour.
Just thought you'd like to know for the record.

No person, regardless of position, should ever make you choose between anything (friends, family, anything....etc.). That is called co-dependence and an unhealthy relationship. Being an individual is the most important thing that we have. If the man is having an unhealthy relationship with said possession then he should seek help but i think he should seek help for the relationship he is having with his wife and she should seek help for being controlling and misunderstanding her husband. This being said a lot of people in our current social paradigm need to reevaluate their relationships and start taking responsibility for their choices. People wonder why divorce is at all time highs and they can't stay married for more then 2 years.
michaeljmoore Jan 8th 2010 4:43PM
I agree, he should not have made her choose between having what she likes and having an orc.
Isay Jan 8th 2010 3:14PM
Is it wrong that while I was reading the first part of a story I was thinking "I hope he makes the right decision and chooses the orc, every other person you meet is a woman but an orc that is something rare and special."
Jamison Banks Jan 8th 2010 3:31PM
This has got to be the worst case of wife aggro I have ever seen. And the dude wasn't married yet! What a defeat for the Horde.
Cathubodva Jan 8th 2010 3:38PM
He should have let her ragequit the marriage and kept the statue!
Tirrimas Jan 8th 2010 3:41PM
I think, of all Orcs, Thrall would understand why this man chose the way he did.
He's just badass that way.
Dreyja Jan 8th 2010 3:44PM
There is a lesson in this guys - marry a girl that loves wow as much as you do. ;-p We are out there you know.
ScytheNoire Jan 8th 2010 3:49PM
Why would he ever marry any b***h that would make ultimatums. The first time someone makes an ultimatum should be the last time, ditch their sorry arse.
david_maurice Jan 8th 2010 4:07PM
Does the girl who got the statue have a boyfriend? ;P
Kyryck Jan 8th 2010 4:22PM
Beyond insane that a wife would declare a marriage over simply because of a decoration that was taller than she was. Keep it in the bloody garage or something then. If she's that insecure about her height so as to be threatened by a statue, I'd imagine there are some more, potentially more psychotic, behavior disorders that she's just aching to share with her 'lucky' man.
Seriously dude, it wasn't about the statue. Not at all. There are issues she has that go far beyond not liking an orc statue and you'd be wise to check out quick, before she starts telling you that there's no 'room' for certain friends in your life, or for going to certain places, or for having a certain job, or whatever. Somebody who's willing to bust out a 'do this or else we're through' over a statue?!? Run. Run fast.
joho Jan 8th 2010 4:28PM
This isn't a story. It's a blurb. The bulk of you are projecting misogynist prejudices into a situation that we know very little about. This is a funny little fluff piece, the dude could probably care about the statue. These guys were probably consolidating their stuff and their wedding gifts and had to make room for essentials. That's life.
Commenting on the woman's looks, on how this dude is whipped, calling her a b*h, a c*t, or any of that is just your own crap spilling from your nasty little lives into the vacuum of the article.

Don't be so boring, cheer up.
