Man forced to choose between his wife and his orc

Much to the dismay of geeks everywhere, Cushnie's wife Dee wasn't comfortable sharing her home with a green-skinned orc and threatened to move back to her Canadian homeland if her husband didn't ditch the Horde Warchief. His wife reportedly said that there was "no room for (the orc) in our life," and Cushnie prudently chose Dee, whom he married in February 2009, over the huge statue. "I just don't like it," Dee said, "I'm only 5ft 3in, so it towers over me, which is quite creepy."
The statue was adopted by a couple in Aberdeen, Michael Thomson, 61, and his wife, Patricia, 55, who report that their 16-year old granddaughter is thrilled with the acquisition. "We wanted him because he's so unusual," said Patricia. Robert and Dee will move to Canada later this month sans the orc. "I'll miss him," Cushnie said, "but I'm glad he's gone to a good home." As this little episode proves, not even the most badass orc can mess with marital bliss!

kooda Jan 8th 2010 4:55PM
Wtf? If she cant find a cupboard or some kind of storage place to put it shes living wrong she must have a lot of crap he doesnt like yet he puts up with it, they're married that means they shouldve accepted each other the way they are orc and all. IMO i wouldve picked the orc probably makes more money that she does :|
Vaeku Jan 8th 2010 5:22PM
It's life-size, so a cupboard is out of the question. ;)
LandMineHare Jan 8th 2010 5:05PM
I would have sent her packing.
You don't marry someone and then expect them to change. You marry someone because you love them for who they are, or tax reasons, or because you got her/they got you pregnant. Or because your parents arranged it.
BUT YOU NEVER FORCE THEM TO CHANGE
Vaeku Jan 8th 2010 5:22PM
It's a freaking STATUE.
The wife needs to get over herself.
Ryuker Jan 8th 2010 5:58PM
Cool, it didn't respond to that thread. Ah well.

Sorry, All Noble Defender of a Been-Dead 'News' Site.

A lot of these comments are far more monstrous and awful than whatever happened to make her have that much disdain for a statue (or secretly him, which is what I suspect this might be really about). :/
Zhiva Jan 8th 2010 11:09PM
What a wonderful display of Male Chauvinist Pigs here in the comments.
# You can't see the reason because you're an idiot. And probably a feminist. And a racist. #
# Wife's a bitch #
# A wife can be replaced. That Orc cannot. #
[sarcasm]
Wow, how dared that woman to have her own opinion! How dared she to stop putting man's needs over her needs! Everyone knows that no self-respecting dickbearer would do such foolish thing as "respecting other's feelings". Woman? Oh yes, that's the woman's thing, "respecting her husband's feelings". Husband is everything, wife is nothing.

And I guess a statue of something you love and hold close is too much to ask of a woman that's supposed to share in your indulgences, as you are, after all, married - right?
Wake up. This was overstepping her bounds as a partner. If she felt afraid, she could have talked it over with him, and maybe had him put it in the garage, or somewhere she doesn't often tread. Marriage is about compromise and understanding. Not bending to the whim of your significant other every time they're slightly perturbed by something.

@ Zhiva
I see you made use of sarcasm, well i believe some others in that thread did too.
True, some trolls jumped to the occasion, but even if the story is half true, all is all it was in good fun, come on :)
Furthermore, untill this woman starts reigning over thousands, millions of devoted subjects and sending troops to fight evil leaders threatening the world, she ain't got nothing on Thrall, you have to get real here.

Statue owned for 6 years.
Marries woman 11 months ago.
Are you telling me that they dated / were engaged for 5 years?
Which is not unheard of but I’m pretty sure the statue was his long before he ever met her. That means she went into the relationship knowing completely well that he had a big Thrall.
She's a bitch, get over it. No chauvinism here.
A good friend of mine finally got rid of his girlfriend a few months ago. He had owned two motorcycles for years and then she comes in the picture and absolutely hated the vehicles. She was with him for the money and thought she could change him and have him get rid of his two bikes. She was a bitch and it’s pretty much the same situation.

Anyone else immediately think of the Penny Arcade comic? "Overlord Saurfang is afraid of only one thing...Miss Saurfang."
lolikitty Jan 9th 2010 12:12AM
Yes, because it never gets old

So many things wrong here
1. The wife that was going to leave her husband because the statue was taller then her (inferiority complex much?)
2.The wife that's making a him move to Canada
3.The fact that he gave up Thrall
4.The fact that the couple who bought it, bought it because it was "unusual"
Warcraft fans everywhere weep
Artitian Jan 9th 2010 1:27PM
Guys, guys guys! Chill out on the wife! The real question should be who is this 16 year old granddaughter and where will she be in two more years?
Evi Jan 10th 2010 8:13PM
I was going to comment but... come on, guys, the SUN? You believe anything written in that publication is fact? It's a tabloid, guys. Sensationalist fluff. Don't take anything in there word for word.
