So... I pvp as prot. I'm pushing 1550 in 2's. All that utility, disappears when you have multiple targets. Especially multiple targets with cc.
Damage... sucks. Having tried arp, str, and block gear, none if it gives you the burst that actually kills a target that has a healer on it, or the healer themself (I have to run with a dps player to kill anything).

Sure, in a duel, I can kick my pve guildies butts in their pretty pve raid gear. Give those same people full furious (which is lower than I run) and half of them are going to hand it to me even when they don't know what they're doing.

Prot is fun in duels, it's mediocre in 2's, but all it is, is a lockdown with the damage output of a melee dps' autoattack. All that stun runs out faster than people realize. Casters rape prot if they can watch the reflect. Rogues are now non-physical damage, and dk's and pallys are casters who can range you. Arms warriors overpower you if you dodge, and that leaves fury warriors and enhance shamans as the only thing left that a prot warrior has an advantage over. (Maybe a type or two of hunters)
All that's needed I think to make prot useless in PVP is not have block value gear. Oh... wait, ICC doesn't have any block value gear...

The problem has been solved with ICC itemization, and Wrathful gear will turn bad prot damage into terribad damage.
