It's funny you referenced Plato and The Matrix, in my Philosophy class last semester my teacher actually showed the beginning of the movie as a parallel to Plato's cave. I thought it was a useful tactic by him to really show how Philosophy is actually used outside of being the Thinker statue. On a side note, I bought this book to use as a source for a thesis paper in my english class last semester. Good read and it contributed to my A in the course. =P
