Had this happen in a Lower BRD random yesterday, so apparently even lowbies are using the tactic. A ret paladin conveniently "forgot" to not sign up as a tank, and forced the feral druid with no experience to switch to tanking. At first, I was impressed with the druid, as he tanked better than the actual tank I had in the run I did previous. This lasted until the druid ignored the healer going afk and our constant cries to stop pulling mobs.
The healer then ninja d/c'd, and the ret group leader re-queued our group. Except all 4 of us chose dps only. Three times in a row. At that point, the ret pali chose the tank role again to fill out the group, and I promptly left. I have no clue why I show such patience sometimes.
