I wonder if this could happen by accident.
For my priest as example, by default both dps and healing is checked.
I never really payed attention to it until there were 2 healers in the group. (I was holy specced, but assigned to dps)
This was only at the beginning when the LFG was just implemented.

So maybe a warrior dps never intended to sign up as tanking but didnt check his roles and assumed he signed up for dpsing.
