The Spousal Unit came home from work the other day to find
Overlord Mok'Morokk hanging out in Orgrimmar. He joined the fray for a couple minutes and then started the night's raiding schedule. Hours later, he found the ogre from Dustwallow Marsh still there. Though the battle had been kept up the entire time, the Overlord just couldn't be brought down. All of the bank alts in the AH were subjected to periodic AOE stuns and the constant sounds of battle while trying to conduct business.
Of course,
this isn't the first time someone has been kited into a major city for the sake of mayhem. Players have been doing this since the beginning of MMO time. It can be annoying but also breaks up the monotony of the atmosphere. Some, however, view it only as griefing.
What is the most unusual NPC or creature that you've seen kited to a major city? Do you think this kind of activity is fun or annoying? Have you ever had the patience to kite something this far yourself?
Edited to add: Link to a reunion of Jaina and Thrall.

Kazzak in Stormwind on the Ner'zhul server was one of the greatest things ice ever witnessed in game. I'm pretty sure there are still videos of that one out there.
Deadly. Off. Topic. Jan 14th 2010 9:18AM
Yeah, I remember that one. The day Stormwind was littered in skeletons.
Tankforhire Jan 14th 2010 8:17AM
We'd kite the big ol' Doom Lord Kazzak back in classic.

I have kited chillmaw around icecrown, my favorite spot to kite him to is the tournament grounds, my next attempt is to kite him to argent vanguard
my usual kiting is the dragon outside CoT to gadget

Try bringing Chillmaw to Vengence Landing in Howling Fjord. Bonus points if you take a detour and get him to Dun Niffleheim in Storm Peaks!
"Welcome, Outland adventurers, to Northrend! Here's a level 82 elite undead dragon for you to kill."
Getting him to Howling Fjord is the easy part, tbqh. It's getting him down to Vengence Landing that is hard.

I forget what server did this, but Alliance kited the Horde flight master OUT of Orgrimmar, all the way up to Winterspring. They kept him tucked away somewhere in the zone, then sent a screen shot to the realm forums demanding a ransom for his return. One of the best kiting/RP events I've heard of.
Avan Jan 14th 2010 8:29AM
I must do this. Too bad my guild has no patience for these antics. They'd probably just kill the SW fligtmaster before we got him out of his room.
Arkhell Jan 14th 2010 8:37AM
it was on guildwatch on this site a while ago
Cyrus Jan 14th 2010 8:52AM
That's awesome. If there is such as a thing as a good kind of griefing, this is it.

Same thing was done by Goon Squad on Mal'ganis a few years ago, I believe. They kidnapped the Auberdine and Theramore flightmasters, kited them to Bael'dun in the Barrens and kept them there while demanding ransom. If that's not creative world pvp I don't know what is ;)
A similar stunt could be pulled in Dalaran (and was done, apparently by the same guys :P)

It was done a couple years ago on Ravenholdt by Uthers Hand. There was even a low-level horde alt dressed like Dorcas, named Dorcass or something similar, parked in the flight master's place.

Borelgore, Ironforge.

SomethingAwful also managed to kite Jaina with her tank teleport and all right onto Thrall's chamber to 'reunite the two lovers'

I love kiting things. Anachronos is always fun because he has to go across the bridges and everything in 1k needles, but my alltime favorite had to have been last week. I ran around the barrens gathering up every neutral animal I could find (bear tank, just kept roaring), took them to Durotar, where I picked up some neutral boars and led them all into Orgrimmar. They died pretty much instantly once I got into the city (one wayward thunderclap and they were all doomed), but the amount of whispers and "WTF"'s in trade and local were great. Everyone was amused by the "Animal Raid" on Org, since they didn't kill anyone, and the pile of giraffes, zhevra, boars and plainstriders just kept people standing around until they despawned.

Saw thrall kited to jainas towers.
Seems they discussed the relationship in a hand to hand combat.
Res Jan 14th 2010 9:34AM
And who won? You can't just end the story like that! lol
Chaozdeathk Jan 14th 2010 8:43AM
I remember a mate kiting the little dog from Un'goro all the way to Orgrimmar, and he'd summon all these demons that weren't killable, and they'd all wreak havoc inside Orgrimmar, killing everything.

I don't understand how a 45 elite can stay alive for hours? What am I missing?
