Was this on aggrammar by chance? We had the Overlord over in org 3-4days ago lol.

My best memory about mobs being kited, was when someone kited the green dragon mobs from Feralas all the way up to Org one saturday. This was back at the lvl 60 cap, so these guys were serious business. For several hours, Org was covered in skeletons because noone was prepared to fight the dragons, they just slaughtered everyone. This was before even the ZG blood plague event happened (also awesome), so it was really cool to witness it in the early days.
