My guild best tank, a pally, kited Thrym to the dock in Valiance Keep. I happened to be in Scholazar when I was told to "come take pictures". So, that's what I did. We tried to get him onto a boat but he wouldn't budge off the dock and we figured he'd despawn.

Looking for something else to do, we decided to kite him to the horde city even though none of us had been there. Thrym despawned when we all died, but it was lots of fun kiting him through Dragonblight and Borean.

Fel Reavers still get kited to Honor Hold and Shatt on my server. The aforementioned pally tank kited a Fel Reaver to HH this past Sunday as we were massing to take down Magtheridon.

I think kiting a world boss like that adds a "whoa" factor to the game that is sadly missing now. Plus, it's a testament to someone's skills as a player or to a guild's skills as a group to kite a world boss from point A to point B. Not everyone can do it.

My guild was discussing this very thing last night as we were running Molten Core. Long time players recounted stories of Doom Lord Kazzak coming to Stormwind on occasion. And there are anecdotal stories of Onyxia being kited from Duskwallow to Stormwind while the game was in the initial PTR phase. I don't know how true that it, but I would love to see it happen.
