Big NO to the idea. If there's useful progression loot to be had (or even badges), Your server's #1-4 guilds (or those people you know who live in WoW all day) typically will down them about 10-15 minutes after they spawn, leaving everyone else in the lurch.
Prime example? Old world dragons in vanilla would spawn early to mid morning and would be downed a small while later. The rest of us proles who have jobs and who log in at 5:00? No joy.
If there isn't useful loot, nobody bothers to down them. They just stomp around killing newbs who wander into the wrong spot at the wrong time.
