Free character migrations for select realms

What's interesting is that in a few of these instances, they're only extended the offer to Horde players. These servers include Illidan, Mal'Ganis, and Warsong. Considering Mal'Ganis is home to the infamous Goon Squad, this isn't the most surprising thing in the world. Interesting, yes. Surprising? Not in the slightest.

Wow, hope some people come over to farstriders horde side. The server is imbalanced almost 5:1. But you is it fun 1shotting 3 people with 20 stacks of tenacity and a Chain lightning.
Banthis Jan 15th 2010 2:40PM
It does make WG interesting. :)
(Speaking as someone who is on the receiving end of those 20-stacked chain lightnings... ouch.)
Jay Jan 15th 2010 3:27PM
OMG, I only had 12 tenacity on Whisperwind the other night and having boss levels of HP was fun. 20 would be mega-awesomsauce.
Shane Jan 15th 2010 2:34PM
Dunno if you guys are just blind or didn't see, but it says all the people from source A are going to destination A, and the people from source B are going to destination B.
Rpers will still get their RP realm, while PvPers will still get theirs.

Again, to elaborate on zappo's RP comments, the reason people tend to not transfer off of RP realms is that relationships between players and their characters are deeper than that of a normal or PvP realm. Often, characters can be tied into group storylines and people often do create roleplayed relationships. Moon Guard will always be a high population realm for that reason - people simply are not willing to give up developed storylines just to get through a queue faster.
And then there are people like me that are on RP realms not for the RP, but so we don't have to suffer the inane behavior of 90% of the people on normal and PVP realms. RP realms, at least in my experience, are more mature.

Why more Horde to Auchindoun-US? (one of my servers...Alliance toons)
The Horde / Alliance ratio is already over 4:1 if not more...lol
oricus12843 Jan 15th 2010 2:52PM
That's twice in a row for Agamaggan transfers. It'll be nice to see ag thriving again.
Snarkman Jan 15th 2010 2:56PM
Why do you even mention Goon Squad from Mal'Ganis? They aren't "infamous" at all - they are a bunch of scrubs pretending to be pimps, when in reality they are just a bunch of crappy players trying to improve their online gansta epeens. Seriously, they don't deserve a site like wow.com to highlight them.
Are single faction transfers really uncommon? I can speak to the fact that Mal'Ganis really needs this - 4:1 horde vs. alliance ratio is just a little out of whack. Allowing free xfers for alliance to leave wouldn't help the situation at all.
crunk Jan 15th 2010 3:12PM
My thoughts exactly. What I would have done though, was give the Alliance a free Race Change, to even out the ratio. I played an Alliance character on Mal'ganis for a long time, and it is a brutal pvp server to play on, if you are Alliance. What they say on the forums is very true.. "Alliance is the Hordes bitch on Mal'ganis".
mychilli Jan 15th 2010 3:32PM
Actually, Goon Squad is pretty infamous for doing stupid shit, do you even look at the Internet?
Seedcake Jan 15th 2010 5:25PM
You just have no idea what you're talking about. At all.
Lurelai Jan 15th 2010 3:09PM
Being from Emerald Dream, I can say I don't care how long the log-in/PVP queues get, I would never leave. I think most people in an RP realm would agree. Those of us in RP realms are very attached to our worlds, even if it's just from seeing the same people standing next to you at the bank everyday, whether or not you've ever talked to them. It doesn't matter how many thousands exist, we are a close-knit bunch, at least on ED.
Jamin Jan 15th 2010 3:11PM
I really wish they'd address the faction imbalance on Alleria. Over 12:1 Alliance to Horde ratio. Wintergrasp is a joke.
Tori Jan 15th 2010 3:15PM
Farstriders is a very pleasant realm that I've fallen in love with for my RP characters. :) I found the community to be overall better than Moon Guard, so if any of you on Moon Guard are considering a transfer I wanted to vouch for Farstriders as a wonderful server.
Not saying that Moon Guard is bad, I just had a much easier and quicker time meeting people on Farstriders.
Daestrum Jan 15th 2010 5:56PM
Farstriders is a fantastic realm. I spent 75 bucks to transfer there and I've never regretted it for a moment. However, the community there isn't very tolerant of the form of roleplay where you take supreme liberty with the lore. If you don't follow lore, completely, you'll probably be met with a lot of disdain.
That said, serious roleplayers should talk to the officers of The Shadow Hall (A) or House Darksun (H) if they decide to transfer over. These are two of the heavier roleplay guilds on the realm whose officers are working very hard to maintain the community and would love to see some fresh blood.
andvili Jan 15th 2010 6:29PM
I can honestly say that the Farstriders RP community, at least Hordeside, is very strong with 20 RP guilds on the RP guild list. More crop up daily. We do have a small griefer problem, but if you ignore them they'll leave.
Alliance side needs more RPers than Hordeside, so if you transfer over, please go Alliance. There're only 8 guilds.
Alliance outnumbers Horde on this server, though.
And keep your catgirls, dragons, liches, Arthas' wives/daughters/sons/relatives, eredar, vampires, Harry Potter wannabes, and other sundry forms of fail. We don't want them. We have our own brands of fail that we're trying to get rid of.
Malachi Jan 16th 2010 1:49AM
I wish Thorium Brotherhood would return to its former supposed glory. I transferred there a while back and made some great friends but the RPers just kind of fell to the side and disappeared to other things. Alliance RP on ThoBro seems to be non-existant and Horde RP may be going the same way. I remember back when you could walk into Silvermoon and at least SOMEONE was standing on the steps in front of the Exchange bank willing to RP. Now its just empty.

Obscure Reference on Anetheron Horde wants you! Looking for 80's for raiding 10/25 man content. Separate from any guild, and also recruiting for our raiding guild. Looking for people who would like to become "early adopters" of this system. If you have the maturity, teamwork, and attitude to get into raiding; but not the contacts, schedule, or top tier gear, running with us may be a good alternative. We are a casual guild of adults who like to learn the fights and learn to play our class well, not faceroll. See our website for more info. www.hex.ms

As with many other servers, Smolderthorn get's forgotten. With a 3-4:1 Horde to Alliance ratio (and many more alliance leaving or switching every day, it's become a sad server to play alliance on.
Markus Laumann Jan 15th 2010 4:07PM
Tortheldrin really needs Allies. Bring us fresh meat!
For the Horde!
