This information is incorrect. Terms of the contract are confidential and are discussed at the time of hiring.

Honestly, although I applied and would certainly like to get the job and get paid, I'd do it for free. The money is a nice bonus and certainly an incentive, but I love this game and I love sharing what I know.

I applied for the Addon/UI columnist. Best of luck to you all!

Me too. Good luck!

I'm looking forward to seeing some good articles about Holy Paladins.
I considered applying for the position myself but feel that I'm not a total expert on my class and it'd be inappropriate for me to blog about the class and spec on such a large site when other readers would know far more than I.

I freaked out at the time because at the time, SoL had very little bandwith and couldn't survive being linked to by WoW.com. That is no longer the case, and since they have continued to link to SoL, I do believe it's no big deal. Additionally, if you can't beat 'em... join 'em. If you're of the opinion that people don't know about the lore, and you do... don't you have an obligation to teach them?
Omacron Jan 15th 2010 7:58PM
Bah, that was supposed to reply to Drakkenfyre. In any case, SoL has gone through a lot of changes and we are still, believe it or not, a reputable source for lore discussion and occasional news, a position we just happened to fall into. We fixed things up behind the scenes, changed some policy, and should be able to handle anything that comes in the future.

I really hope they don't delve to far into education for a job writing about a video game. Being a 22 year old with a son doesn't leave alot of time for college. That doesn't mean I can't write, though. :(

I am crossing my fingers.
