WoW Moviewatch: Ninja Raiders [Update]
One of the fresh, fun things about this video is the obvious skill displayed by Ember Isolte in her vocal performance. She sounds very much like Beyonce Knowles, but still gives the song an interesting "Draenei sound." Both the graphics and the lyrics gently poke fun at its subject without feeling mean spirited or cruel. That's a pretty rare balance, and Ember Isolte and Raven Sylphe should both be proud of their work.
Update: Ember has contacted us to let us know that the mastermind behind the project is Ryan Myers. Ryan wrote the lyrics and even did a machnima of it quite a while ago. You can check out the original video of it; it certainly has all the makings of the current incantation that has sparked a lot of interest in the WoW community. It's great to see talented artists like Ryan, Ember, and Raven work together to create what ends up to be an amazing product. Kudos to them all!

Waaaaait a minute. Haven't I've seen this one before. Even on this very site.
Suspicious.
Neverthless its still amazing and catchy song.

It happened during the Christmas week, so I'm guessing quite a few people (myself included) missed it.
Still, completely worth a second (or third, or seventeenth) feature in MovieWatch. Funny, well produced, catchy as h-e-double hockey sticks... I'm floored by its sheer awesomeness. It's movies like these that make MovieWatch worth tracking, even though you're going to be occasionally subjected to dren like the last MovieWatch.

When I first saw this, I had never heard of the Beyonce song, and I still thought it was pretty funny. Then I heard my wife and daughters singing the Beyonce thing and I about died.

You guys already featured this :) it's no longer "fresh and fun"
Lornicide Jan 15th 2010 12:10PM
Agrees.
Awesome video, BUT you've already spotlighted it once. Move on. Are you guys that short on new content?
Kikr Jan 15th 2010 12:11PM
It says right in the blog post that he wanted to feature it a second time.
Lornicide Jan 15th 2010 12:26PM
Great idea!
Let's just re-publish every article 5 times so as to make sure no one misses them. Why haven't the newspapers thought of this yet?

"Since it's one of the rare music videos that genuinely make me laugh, I figured I'd give it a second spotlight. "
Reading's fun. So is the video.
astianax Jan 15th 2010 12:14PM
Well I hadn't seen it before so the article's goal of, "[making] sure everyone gets a chance to see it", worked.
SithLlenniuq Jan 15th 2010 12:14PM
Song: Excellent! (Words that is, great job)
Machima: AWESOME JOB
Message: POOR CHOICE!
So is it now cool to be a ninja looter?
What message are we sending here?
Meh, I should add the artist to wowjackass.com on principle.

When did the word 'satire' make it's transition to meaning 'SRS BIZNIZ' all of a sudden.
Swift could be hooked up to a power generator to make use of all the grave-spinning he's doing right now

No surprise, again, I am down rated, just because I will point out the obvious. No worries to me, I only come here to stir the drama pot that this website thrives off of.
I am sure a vast majority of the people raving about this video are in fact the same people who practice the whole, if you wanted it you should have needed it belief.
Ninjas. Scum.
Graham Jan 15th 2010 4:31PM
Oh whatever. Yeah, people who think this video is funny are ninjas. Just like everyone who watches Colbert are fake republicans, and everyone who listens to Carlin like to say bad words on TV. Flawless logic alert.
Sintraedrien Jan 15th 2010 12:15PM
BTW, for all you ninja raiders on Blackrock - US?
http://www.straferight.com/forums/world-warcraft/180651-blackrock-raid-safe-list.html
Yes, we are keeping track.
SithLlenniuq Jan 15th 2010 3:48PM
Add them to Wowjackass.com as well. The website is gaining popularity. With the new Cross realm LFG system, we need a way to track the scum faster than going to the forums.
And no, I do not run wowjackass.com I am only an avid fan of it.

Further comment:
"Both the graphics and the lyrics gently poke fun at its subject without feeling mean spirited or cruel."
Ninja looting & logging, lying to a guild with intent to steal as much as possible in gold and items after getting geared, and then /gquitting?
I'd say that's pretty much the definition of mean-spirited and cruel to other players in WoW.
rick9429 Jan 15th 2010 12:26PM
Kinda offended by it because it makes it look like every hunter is a ninja....
