The WoW Insider Show returns to the airwaves today at 3:30 PM Eastern time, bringing with it familiar faces Michael Sacco and Matthew Rossi (your host and co-host, respectively), with special guests Tim "Heartbourne" Tusing and Jimmy "DJTyrant" Blocksom of Project Lore bringing their unique perspectives to this week's top stories, both here and around the internet.
And, of course, they'll answer your emails and talk live with the folks in the chat channel. You can email the podcast any time of night or day at theshow@wow.com, and you'll be able to listen in to the show on the feed on our Ustream site, or after the jump.
It's the PL bloggers that will be joining the show and they're not the ones who used to make the videos. They have no connection whatsoever, if I'm not wrong.
Odd that it never bothered you all the times I did the show before, but okay. What's annoying about me in particular? (I find it hard to believe i was all that important this week, when I was disconnecting every five seconds, but I'll play along.)
I think the tricky part of Rossi's contributions is that sometimes less Rossi is better than more Rossi. Rossi has tremendous insight on what it is like to tank, the world of WoW, among other subjects. I do find that "impressions" or "accents" tend to be grating. I'll try to be specific, as years in radio have left me with some perspective on this...I think Rossi is much better when he is less animated, and when is not trying to be funny. That may be hard advice to hear, but it is meant from a good place. I love the show and will continue to listen. I simply want the show to be the best it can be. For the record, this was often true of Turpster as well.
What you say about Turpster is true. Yes he was extremely funny and quickwitted but he used to talk over other people A LOT. And that is just plain rude. Sometimes people think of something funny to say and just cant wait for the other person to finish, and just have to blurt out what they have to say while the other person is still talking. "Manners maketh the Man" as the old saying goes. I always used to admire Mike Shramm for the patience he showed in regards to this behaviour.
Rossi - I've been critical before and Wassul said it best. Your commentary is MUCH better than Turpsters, like Wassul said when you try to be funny it's over the top.
Having said that I'm starting to like this format better than the previous. Keep it up guys.
How come you guys have stopped recording the show for people that cant make the live show on UStream? There always used to be a recorded show put up straight after you finished the show, but thats not happening anymore. I find this extremely disappointing and Im sure other people do too. I really dont want to have to wait 2 more days to get the MP3 version.
I was worried I wouldn't like the podcast after the changing of the guard... But I'm happy to say that I'm still listening and loving it. Great hoice in hosts - especially Rossi imo. Keep it going!
"I think the tricky part of Rossi's contributions is that sometimes less Rossi is better than more Rossi."
First, I don't mean any offense to Matt Rossi at all. I think, overall, you're extremely insightful and knowledgeable about WoW. The problem is when insight turns into an over-the-top speech every thirty seconds. In regards to why I believe it's less bearable now is because he now holds a larger role in the show. The idea of comic relief is lost, at least for me, and just comes off as a puppy that's been ignored all day and suddenly is allowed to show off and be crazy for an hour. Sometimes it's just too much to handle, and other times a flat out train wreck of bad podcasting.
I'd like to add as well. This is what, week 3, of this new podcast. It takes a long time to figure out the rhythm and chemistry of any show. Mike and Turpster had a tremendous rapport, at least by the end, and new people are not going to be as smooth. I think they are doing very well for a new show. Constructive feedback should be welcomed, and hopefully Rossi can hear what we are trying to say.
@ Rossi
You did make me laugh out loud with the WotLK as hosted by the Lich King detour from last week. I don't know how to tell you how to zero in on the funny, but I thought that in particular was very funny. Maybe it was more observational and less self-referential? Something to think about...
You know what they say, you can't please everyone. I, for one, like the direction this show is going. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be fine. I also wish that C Christian Moore (Arena guy), Holisky, Matt Low (Raid Rx) and Belt (Mage Guy) would come on the show more often or possibly adding one of them as a permanent third host.

Project Lore is awesome, a shame they don't make new videos anymore...
Can you ask them if they will? :D
