Around Azeroth: Let us prey
Attention worshippers: your god is vastly inferior to the insect god. With eight legs, it can light fires, smite unbelievers, and deliver commandments with maximum efficiency. It also has the ability to paralyze and devour competing deities, which your run-of-the-mill supreme being lacks. All bow to the insect god! (Thanks to Krem for this Old Kingdom screenshot.)
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

So wait, there's lava underneath Northrend? At what point does the lava stop melting the ice?
kozom Jan 17th 2010 10:06AM
Since it's underground, it's called magma :D And i think the point of putting that there was to show how far underground you went, you'd be almost at the mantle! (27 miles underground)! That's a lot of walking!

"At what point does the lava stop melting the ice?"
In b4 icestone has melted.
Everytime I look down in OK it makes me wish there was raid about this place.
Also sometimes I feel that OK was suppos to be (mini?)raid due to its length and size compared to other dungeons and the detail they put outside the walk areas.
Then again they put details to dungeons where you usually dont look. Basically look at almost any ceiling in raid or dungeon. It feels so odd to put so much details to ceiling that no raider or dungeon runner wont even look.
Have YOU watched the ceiling of KT or anub, looked down in OK? Im sure many of us haven't.
Hmm got sidetracked again..

Well poo. Every time I do OK I take a SS of this and go "I should send this into Around Azeroth!" And every time I forget.
I guess it was only a matter of time till someone finally beat me to the punch.

AMEN! Look at this place! It's AWESOME, much better then the bland grey and white terrain that covers ALL of Northrend (Cept Sholazar and Grizzly Hills)

" With eight legs, it can light fires, smite unbelievers, and deliver commandments with maximum efficiency."
Surely you mean the Arachnid God, which is much better than the insect god.
Terethall Jan 17th 2010 10:35AM
I clicked comments on this article to say precisely that.
I'm both happy and sad simultaneously at this development.

Ghangy Jan 17th 2010 10:28AM

Elmo Jan 17th 2010 1:21PM

so many hints of unfinished stories all around Northrend
PictoKong Jan 17th 2010 10:25PM

Candril Jan 17th 2010 10:31AM

MusedMoose Jan 17th 2010 11:38AM
I, for one, welcome our new arachnid overlords.
chris crouse Jan 17th 2010 1:44PM
Let us...pray? Or was that supposed to be some kind of pun that I just didnt get :p
Sargenus Jan 17th 2010 5:11PM
Pray.
–verb (used with object)
1. to offer devout petition, praise, thanks, etc., to (God or an object of worship).
Prey-
–verb (used without object)
5. to seize and devour prey, as an animal does (usually fol. by on or upon): Foxes prey on rabbits.
Pray means to worship. Prey means something that is about to be eaten. Like SPiders vs Flies. You say 'Prey' the same way you say 'Pray'.
Get it now? :P
chris crouse Jan 17th 2010 6:05PM
Sorry. I guess I'm just used to puns being used for humor. That was unfunny :P
