I never expect heals from the healer but I always am very happy with any healer who spends a little of his or her mana dropping the occasional heal on my wolfie. If you have the time and resources it won't hurt, y'know?
However I give all healers my full blessing to completely ignore any hunter who demands heals for his pet. Hunters have Mend Pet, which is more thanI can say for my poor mage and her water elemental. Use it. If I notice the healer doesn't have time to heal my pet when I'm running with my hunter, I drop mend pet. That's all.
