Some players find it necessary to have the same models on WoW due to system requirements. Several of us are still playing with integrated video chips and the graphic load of the game doesn't really allow us to have a second application running, like Chrome or something to search on databases, or even to hold more than 3 addons.
On the other side, I think that as technologies have improved over time, we should be able to see some new models that require the same or just a bit mire resources. I mean, Starcraft II is about to have a beta released (?) and, as I've read, they want to focus graphic load towards playability instead of beauty, but the models still look terrific!
What I believe is that, if Blizzard is to update some models, to do it as they did with, for example, Sylvanas, Varian or Jaina: something that doesn't weigh too much but still nice to see.
