"Its cartoony, colorful visuals makes the game really charming and while more realistic games gets old fast and don't look good after a few years. Cartoony graphics last forever."
And that is why the new Star Wars MMO(The Old Republic) is going with a stylized cartoony style for its character models. Cartoony ages well. Plus if you look at the TOR character models, they're just as cartoony as WoW's(maybe slightly more stylized), but they still aren't using that heavy a polygon count or texture detail. If you look close, you can still see the jagged lines. I'd put TOR's graphics at about the level of LK's high-quality "hero" models(Arthas, Lich King, Alextrasza, etc.), maybe at the level of Cataclysm(or the expansion after Cat, if you're really picky). Cartoony can be done in high quality and still look good.
