I also hate the "realistic anime" style, square enix can rot in hell for adopting that style and never deviating from it, with the exception of the equally bad clown-foot style in Kingdom Hearts and The World Ends with You, only deviating sadly with its B and C team titles such as the, IMO, beautiful Crystal Chronicles games.

However, updating the character models doesn't mean they have to use the same generic crappy gray & brown art style that SE and many other eastern companies are starting to use. Blizzard, despite being a bit lazy with its modeling, at LEAST isn't lazy with their art direction.

I have total faith that they can update the models and still maintain the gorgeous, colorful and stylish look.
