The Queue: My, what big teeth you have

Why yes, that is the most disgusting whale you've ever seen. Unless, of course, you've witnessed local authorities taking dynamite to a beached whale to get it out of the way since they couldn't move it just by pushing the thing. That is disgusting. Whale guts landing on cars a mile away? No thanks. I'll take the guy pictured above over that.
Moonkinmaniac asked...
"On the WoW calendar there's an undead whale picture. What the heck is it? Is it a rejected project for the current expansion or possibly one for Cataclysm?"
I hopped over to the Petopia link you supplied and took a look at it, and I'm going to guess it was concept art that didn't get modeled for Wrath of the Lich King. If you remember questing in the Western Plaguelands, there was a string of quests that made it very clear the wildlife of the region was being impacted by the plague as well. Maybe not in the same ways that it harmed the humanoid races, but there was an impact nonetheless.
This was probably just a concept art, but they decided to go with the orcas you see off the coast of the Howling Fjord instead.
It's really not uncommon to find copious amounts of concept art that never turned into anything in the game itself. There's a ton of it in the art books that came with the various Collector's Editions of the game and expansions, and I can lose hours of my time digging through the Sons of the Storm galleries. For example...

explosion987 asked...
"Can you fly from Hellfire Peninsula to the Netherstorm over the abyss in Outland on your flying mount?"
Yes. It even counts as its own little zone. Your channels will switch from Hellfire Peninsula to Twisting Nether before becoming Netherstorm.
Mayahh asked...
"In the Azeroth there are siege engines, guns, helicopters, robots, motorcycles etc. Since that type of technology exists why would anyone continue to ride on a horse or dragon? They smell, they poop, they need food, it's silly."
Do you really want to lay your cushy behind on a giant hunk of metal wrapped around a Goblin-made engine? I don't. I'll stick with my gryphon, thank you.
corwin asked...
"When the new arena season starts will honor reset?"
No, honor points do not reset with new arena seasons. Arena points do, but honor points do not.
R. asked...
"How do gold sellers get all of the toons that they use for these marches/dead body graffiti? Do they buy that many trial accounts? Hack into character creation servers? If this is the case, how safe is the rest of the process?"
They definitely do not hack character creation. It's a combination of (free) trial accounts and stolen accounts they are "done" with. Once they've stripped down a character, auctioned/vendored everything, have transferred the goods and all of that, the account is just a billboard now. Goodbye level 80s, hello army of level one paladins marching in formation.
Molly asked...
"Why is Silvermoon called Silvermoon? Isn't that name a bit strange for Blood Elves? Why not Goldensun or something like that?"
Do remember that the elves that settled Silvermoon did so thousands of years ago, and they weren't all about the sun yet. They hadn't even taken the name the Blood Elves. They were barely even High Elves yet. Quel'Thelas was founded by Kaldorei exiles. As was mentioned by others in the comments, if the Blood Elves had founded Silvermoon, it probably would be called something else entirely. But Silvermoon makes perfect sense as a name from the people that actually named it.

Why are Suspiciously Soft Gloves suspiciously soft?

If you saw such tough bad-asses drop a dainty set of gloves, wouldn't it make YOU just a bit suspicious?
ElliLe Jan 19th 2010 1:11PM
If they were made of people-skin, you'd think they'd be leather rather than cloth, though. O_o
Haywire Jan 19th 2010 1:23PM
It puts the lotion on its skin......
Hoggersbud Jan 19th 2010 1:23PM
It's like putting on a second set of skin....wait, wait...NO!!!!!

Suspiciously Soft Gloves is only part of the set from Marwyn. Just look in his closet and you'll find many Lovely Black Dresses and a box of Luffa in the bathroom.

I see what you did there.
I'm waiting for them to adopt leaves as currency

We've seen a lot of Goblin and gnome technology when it comes to vehicles, mounts what have you. But why none designed by Draenei? They've mastered interstellar travel and EVEN have a huge ship to farm for materials. Can it be that they didn't escape Draenor with a single engineer?
Craig R Jan 19th 2010 1:15PM
The Exodar, like Tempest Keep, is a Naruu construct.
If the Draenei have mastered intersteller travel...
why did they crash?
There you go.
Mike Jan 19th 2010 1:23PM
Didn't they crash because of Blood Elf sabotage?
But yes, I would also greatly enjoy seeing more Draenei technology out and about. Seeing my Shaman's totems just isn't enough.
Kylenne Jan 19th 2010 1:35PM
Draenei aren't really masters of interstellar travel though. As it was stated, the Exodar was part of Tempest Keep (most likely the residential wing), which was of Naaru origin, as was Oshu'gun. All the tech in the Exodar was built by the Naaru. We know that the Draenei are highly skilled when it comes to magic, and have a knack for working with crystals, but there's not much basis in the lore to suggest they're engineering geniuses, unless you want to make some assumptions that K'ure taught them anything more than how to fly and maintain the ships. It's sort of like people saying the Druids built Stonehenge.
Markus Laumann Jan 19th 2010 1:37PM
I've always suspected that the Draenai that landed on Azeroth were all unwanted hairdressers, management consultants, 'telephone sanitizers'...
Nadia Jan 19th 2010 1:39PM
Look at what their engine core did to Bloodmyst Isle.
Then think about how goody-goody the Draenei are.
Do you really think they would stick to technology that corrupts their new home and all their new allies?
bob Jan 19th 2010 1:52PM
Tempest Keep and Oshu'gun are both dimensional ships. They travel through the Twisting Nether, not the great dark (space). No one in the Warcraft universe has the capability of direct interstellar travel. All the know dimensional ships were built by the Naaru.
Vaeku Jan 19th 2010 2:06PM
Ah, Draenei hate is here once again.
The Exodar crashed because of blood elf sabotage. If you play through the first two starting zones, this is revealed. When Kael'thas and his elves went to take Tempest Keep, the Draenei fled to the Exodar (the residential unit) and broke away from TK. However, some of these elves (known as the Sunhawks), snuck aboard, and a battle ensued. During this battle, the elves sabotaged the Exodar so that it crashed.
Now, the parts of the Exodar that crashed onto Bloodmyst Isle were the worst parts of the ship, the engine and such (vector coil, warp piston, cryo-core).
The Draenei are engineers, but not to the caliber of the Naaru, whoc reated Oshu'gun, TK, and Exodar.
Mitawa Jan 19th 2010 2:15PM
"Didn't they crash because of Blood Elf sabotage?"
Oh, sure. That's what they say the SECOND time they crash into a planet... Who knows what their excuse for Osh'Gun is!
Darthregis Jan 19th 2010 2:40PM
More importantly: Why don't the dranei have lasers and Moonraker space suits?
Angus Jan 19th 2010 5:54PM
Feh, sabotage or not, do a /silly with a Draenei female enough times and you will hear.
"How exactly do you crash into a planet? That's what I want to know."
Folks, it's not like they didn't see the thing coming. It's a frakkin' planet!
You can only blame the Sun Hawks so much in this. As was said before, they crash landed on Draenor too.
With a history of crashing every interstellar craft they have had I am surprised they didn't have a +15 racial bonus to goblin engineering...
