Rolling restarts for January 23rd, 2010

Either way, if you're one of those folks weird enough to get up early on a Saturday morning, you may as well grab another hour or sleep or so, since you may not be able to jump on WoW for a 15 minute window. There's still no word on Tuesday's downtime, so maybe we were spoiled by the past couple of weeks. Then again, maybe they're just seeing if they can get that minor patch ready for a release this week too. Either way, keep it here, and we'll keep you informed.

Meh, I have work anyways so...
And I'm completely fine with them doing whatever the heck they want on Tuesday, too, since I have jury duty.

I think they may hold off on the minor patch until the 2nd since it isn't like the new arena gear has to be in game when the next season starts since no one can buy it yet anyway.

We need a new picture for these posts... I'm starting to dislike that gnome.
Rai Jan 23rd 2010 12:03PM
Never has a gnome caused so much impending doom.
...wait, never mind.
coolbam13 Jan 23rd 2010 12:10AM
Lol its not a gnome its a orge. Anyhow, are they giving noticable changes like... more earthquakes and maybe a little crack?
Reuben Jan 23rd 2010 12:13AM
I think you're confused.
Or I'm very confused.
Ronin Jan 23rd 2010 1:12PM
Splodesondeath wasn't talking about the default "avatar" when you write a post-- s/he was talking about the picture of a Gnome engineer that they use to illustrate posts about WoW restarts and maintenance.
coolbam13 Jan 23rd 2010 12:22AM
I am not confused, in the earlier post they said that there will be something worth looking at or somewhat. This post has a link to another that relates to another server maintenance.
I believe the minor patch will fix those bugs in that new raid dungeon and add some new things. Maybe more [DND] Shakers for more frequent earthquakes? That's what I heard.
Reuben Jan 23rd 2010 1:09AM
No, I meant about your comment concerning the ogre/gnome thing. That most certainly is a gnome.
See, I'm confused.

The restart is to make sure that all realms are live with the new resilience hotfix.
Leviathon Jan 23rd 2010 1:24AM
Thanks Captain Obvious.

If u guys haven't noticed, the server Malygos never have maintenance breaks or just random restarts, now why is that?
ScytheNoire Jan 23rd 2010 2:19AM
Who cares about resilience, how about fixing the disconnect bug since 3.3 that thousands are complaining about on the forums.
Priorities are wrong. Get it working first.
Ronin Jan 23rd 2010 1:09PM
What does changing resilience have to do with the "disconnect bug"? They're totally separate issues, with different teams working on them. One has nothing to do with the other.

All I know is, every time they do a rolling restart on my server, the weekly raid resets. Here's hoping!

The monumental difficuluty involved to give the Oceanic time in ... wait for it... Oceanic time got them yet again, I see.
Ronin Jan 23rd 2010 1:06PM
They always give all times in Pacific, that way it's consistent and anyone anywhere can convert it to their local time. I'm sure by now you know what that conversion is for you, so why complain? Just do the math.
Al Jan 23rd 2010 3:55PM
It's more continued exasperation then complaining. If they can bother doing the Oceanic restarts at a different time, how about a few seconds more work and changing the time?
That or rename the damn servers to "U.S Night-Shift", because it seems that's who they actually plan around.
Valkarauke Jan 23rd 2010 11:11AM
The first rolling restart for Fenris: Server back up in 3 min, could not authenticate for over 30.
On second restart now. Server has completely disappeared from the list and has been gone for over 40 minutes. It just doesn't exist anymore.
WTF?
