Breakfast Topic: In-Jokes

Unfortunately, I chose to tell this story while tanking Jaraxxus who was, at the time, serious business. Several of the DPS found the tale of my apicidal beard so amusing that they ended up not running to the portal in time and we had two annoying sisters instead of just one. Since then, the tale of my beard has grown in guild to the point that people ask me the block value of said beard, or insist I get my beard enchanted with Armsman.
So I turn to you in an attempt to distract from my own constant humiliation (you wouldn't believe the amount of 'furry warrior' jokes I hear in a raid week) to ask what your WoW in-jokes are.

A friend of mine was riding in my motorcycle while in tree form and performing /cower. We stood in Dalaran for a moment like this, not really paying attention to anything, just watching the tree shake.
Suddenly, someone walks up to us and in /say, says: "someone better cut that tree down is got seizure".
He then walked away as if he had said nothing at all. I could NOT stop laughing.
Now whenever someone in the guild steps away from the keyboard during a raid, they say "brb, is got seizure" or some sort of variation about having to cut down a tree in their yard because "is got seizure".

Was tanking Thaddius on 25Naxx. I expressly remembered shouting "Bio" in vent when my guild leader thought it is time to start to pull.
After a fast bio, I came back to my room with the sound of people calling my name in vain. Since then, the guild often referred to my "Epic Bio" that has caused a 25 man wipe.
Another one is, I posted a funny picture of one of our hunters Tbag'ing our dead warrior. Even now some of the guild members still call "T-Bags" a "Hunter Rez".

I lose count of the number of in-jokes in my guild. There always seems to be room for a wacky catchphrase whose meaning even the speaker doesn't know. Currently that is "FIEN AND DEATH ROCKS!". Also gaining popularity is "/em touches you inappropriately."

Back in the day when I ran around permaflagged on our RP/PvE server "Red = dead" was always a good one associated with me. :)
Nowadays, I am known for facepulling mobs. It's a horrible raid leader habit of mine to run ahead of the tanks to see what's ahead. Or to test the limits of the aggro radius around bosses. Best example would be our first time seeing Kologarn. Ran up the stairs ahead of everyone else, saw nothing in the room above and ran in, Kologarn comes out of the chasm, scaring the poop out of me. I actually scream on Vent and try to run out only to get smashed dead just as everyone else reaches the room's entrance. Yeah, that was a fifteen minute break because everyone was laughing so hard and I licked my wounds in embarressment. Such events have helped give credence to our raid rules "Never run ahead of Red" and "If Red gets naked, get very far away."

It's a tradition in my guild to calmly ask new raiders to go in first into kologarns room while biting back the laughter. Love hearing the reaction as they get oneshotted and kologarn yells "YOU FAIL!"

The only real in-joke we have is the one night when a guild member was asking where he could get a new cloak, and someone told him to go get the cloak he can get with badges. Or "badge cloak." However, he mispronounced it with a "v" instead of a "b". Thus began an hour of determining stats of said cloak, how epic it is, and how rare. Also, how if he could get one he'd never need to leave the house. Also how certain members of the guild already had one, etc. Yes, the joke was juvenile. Yes, most of us were laughing so hard by the end of it that we couldn't breathe.

back in the days of molten core my guild had a hunter that I'm positive is the reason for the term "huntard".
- Chain pulled when half the raid was still dead from the last wipe he caused.
- Swore constantly that hunters could tank as well if not better than warriors. Not the hunter's pet, the hunter itself.
- "I shoot gold!" was a common line of his. Some times it was bragging about his DPS (rarely if ever top 10) and sometimes it was him complaining about needing to buy ammo. Often accompanied by a request for gold so he could repair after the first wipe(that he caused).
No one is really sure of his name anymore, but none of us will ever forget him.

We have many....but our favorite is to blame a certain hunter for a raid wipe....even when he's not in the instance (or even in-game).
So if you ever hear the shout of "It's all Lava's fault!" you know we died.
Rioriel Jan 23rd 2010 12:32PM
Thumbs up!
We do the same and blame Eamara. None of us have been in the same guild as him for two years, and he's never been a member of ours but old habits die hard. Even newer members who don't know him blame him now :D
Priestess Jan 23rd 2010 1:28PM
"I blame Bani!"
Doesn't matter if he's on or not, it's always his fault. Good or bad or not sure, we hardly even /roll for blame any more, the consensus is that it's Bani's fault. I don't even know how it started.
Undra Jan 23rd 2010 3:12PM
We blame Springbloom.

I quit WoW last July, but my legend lives on. Friends have told me that I was blamed for Alliance losing Wintegrasp around November or December. I'm Gonzy on Lethon-PvP.

And all of the people in Questionable Intent on Argent Dawn blame Volkar. We have a flowchart explaining why EVERYTHING is his fault.
