Breakfast Topic: Your predictions for arena season eight

The new season is slated to be quite different from previous arena seasons in WotLK. Resilience is getting a huge boost in effectiveness, increasing the benefit of wearing PvP gear in arenas. Some people (even on arena junkies) are stating that PvE gear will be even better in PvP because of the change. The idea is that arena players can get away with donning more loot from dragons because the added resilience benefit will make up for the forfeited survivability. While I might be wrong here, that sounds like terrible logic.
One gladiator is predicting the shift to more survivability will benefit warlocks, warriors, and druids. The same poster believes mages and rogues will be harmed, while everyone else will keep status quo.
So, I ask you, breakfast readers: What are your predictions for arena season eight?

Well... doing some Toravon for Tier10, and otherwise ignoring Arena, as I did since Season 2 :)

I have no idea what will be popular, but I have an inside source that the new name for gear is Well-Adjusted Gladiator, and the Gladiator title will be [name] of Switzerland.
Theyas Jan 24th 2010 8:56AM

There will be fighting. Lots of fighting.
Sometimes with sticks, sometimes without sticks.
There will be fighting, oh yes.

I predict that like every season before it, hunters will once again have the lowest representation in high level 2v2 and 3v3, despite their perceived strength due to a few tournament realm wins.
Coldbear Jan 24th 2010 10:42AM
I predict that, like in every season, some classes and specs will get shut out in some brackets, due to player skill, player perceptions, cookie-cutter comps and to some extent even badly tuned class/spec issues.
Deathgodryuk Jan 24th 2010 12:47PM
I predict that hunters will keep whining about things when there isn't any justifiable reason for it.
Durante Jan 24th 2010 4:23PM
Being the lowest represented class above 2200 in both 2v2 and 3v3 for each the past 3 seasons isn't a justified reason to be concerned with balance? How bad does it need to before its cause for concern pray tell?
Naughton Jan 24th 2010 4:58PM
Yea those poor hunters, must be why 17% of all the upcoming Relentless Gladiators are hunters.
Go QQ somewhere else scrub.
Cythen Jan 24th 2010 7:29PM
38.6% of statistics are made up on the spot....

Why is he being downvoted to oblivion? He actually has a very good point.
Hunters were only ever good in Season 5, when they were actually given the necessary survivability and damage buffs. Glyph of the Monkey was made of win, as were all 3 hunter specs at the time. In TBC, we were crippled by melee range and no viable ways to get out of it. It made Aimed Shot (at the time a 3.5 second cast) an almost impossible feat to pull off. No wonder Arena became dominated by Sub Rogues, Arms Warriors and Resto Druids.
Since Season 6, we're now worse off than we were back in BC. We may have finally obtained some limited cooldowns (Deterrence, Disengage, Master's Call etc) for escaping from melee, but now, theres more slows, range closing and roots than ever.
Rogues can now disarm our ranged weapons and melee weapons for 5 - 10 seconds, completely screwing us against their overpowered as hell burst (No Deterrence = INSTANT DEATH)
Warriors now have at least two range closing abilities and many ways to refresh the cooldowns on said abilities. Its just Charge/Intercept and Spamstring all the goddamm time. Lets not forget Skillstorm (which always gibs our pet and kicks us in the face)
Paladins had a major damage boost, a 6 second stun and are virtually unkiteable.
And don't get me started on DKs. A slow that is more overpowered than Crippling Poison, and DEATH GRIP.

Remember when you'd only see people PvPing in Tier 2 gear? Those were some good times.
