Realm maintenance for January 26th

I think at this point it is absolutely safe to say that Blizzard has taken on a stance of giving us more notice about maintenance periods, and everyone here at WoW.com is very appreciative of it. Blizzard representative Draocel hit the forums Sunday evening to let us know that tomorrow's maintenance period will begin at 5:00AM PST and last until 11:00AM PST.
As usual, we will be here throughout the maintenance period doing our whole "write blog posts until our fingers bleed" deal. The Tuesday Morning Post will be waiting for you as well, rounding up our best posts of the last week should you need to play catch-up.

You mean January 26th.
Alex Ziebart Jan 25th 2010 5:20PM
Yes. Yes I do.
And in the process of trying to fix the date to the 26th, I accidentally made it the 65th.
Dates are hard.
Kaelandros Jan 25th 2010 5:23PM
Yes, hard like Nexus.

I hear January 65th is actually going to be the Cataclysm release date.

It is amusing that the link will remain as evidence. Buuuuuut who else will notice? Probably no one, nothing to worry about.

Mass Effect 2 hits tomorrow, so the WoW servers might as well be down all day for me :p

I know what you mean. I'm think I am getting the flu just thinking about it.

So i guess we'll have the cinematic of ICC datamined by Boubouille tomorrow huh? Nice i don't have the time to raid anymore but i would kill for another cinematic.
Leviathon Jan 25th 2010 5:43PM
There is no patch tomorrow so nothing will be datamined. 5-11 is normal maintenance while 3-11 is extended maintenance for patches, more complex server work, or when they need to activate things such as the new wings. Obviously Blizzard wouldn't let the end of ICC be spoiled a week before hand.
Now what this means for the next arena season is uncertain. It's possible it could start tomorrow and they just won't get the gear in till next week (not like anyone cna buy the gear on the first day) or it isn't starting till next week.

And for added effect the 3.3.2 notes are on the Korean WoW site and it basically confirms the patch is next week.

Was never really sure where Boub was getting that the patch might get released before the week the Lich King encounter unlocks, this makes more sense that the patch isn't until next week
Bernee Jan 25th 2010 8:07PM
He was getting it from the fact that the arena season ended last week, and the new one would start this week. Which means the patch would have to be this week since the season 8 gear is in the 3.3.2 patch.

Through much looking at the World Clock and failing pitifully at maths, I have confirmed that the downtime is 2am-8am New Zealand (Daylight Savings) Time. Hurrah.
