Lemme put it like the Heavy would:
STRENGTH RING IS CREDIT TO TEAM!
Elpablo Jan 26th 2010 11:25PM
really hit? anything but hit
my pally in his best offset gear is at 383 hit.
JoeHelfrich Jan 26th 2010 6:50PM
Enh. I am so tired of +hit rating. My Pally is going to be over 300 hit rating *after* I get a better trinket and dump the Pyrite infuser.
I know that dual wielding is all the rage, but some of us still use the big two-handers. Bring on reforging.

The Agility ring, which is already a Paladin's best in Slot, has the same amount of hit on it already. All this does is replace agility and AP with Str.
FYI, no Ret paladin should be using the STR ring anyway, the AGI version is still better for us because of our generous AGI to Crit ratio.

WHAT'S THAT STRENGTH RING? KILL THEM ALL? GOOD IDEA!
Dreamstorm Jan 26th 2010 5:57PM
I am an Arms Warrior and I approve of this ring
Kris Jan 26th 2010 6:13PM
So I modelled this ring in rawr and it's actually about 0,95% WORSE dps than the +agi ring for retribution paladins... Why am I not surprised? *sight*

Oops sorry, clicked on the wrong reply button!

@Kris
Before / after buffs?
Kris Jan 26th 2010 6:38PM
@Valt
After buffs I'm afraid. (default rawr buffs)

Well I am a Fury Warrior and I don't approve of this ring.
Pre-kings you looking at a gain of about 102.6AP. But you lose a whopping 1.41% crit! Nearly a 40dps loss going by Landsoul's sheet.
As expected instead of giving us useful stats they inflated the Stam on it taking up valuable item budget (just look at the Revered to Exalted str/stam jump, +1 Str, +9 Stam yay!! just what we wanted.)
So thanks but no thanks. Though sadly I will have to change to the Str ring once 4.0 rolls around and Agi does nothing for Warriors anymore.

I'm delighted to see this ring. I've seen so many melee rings with +Agi so a ring with Strength is wonderful!
CallMeIrd Jan 26th 2010 6:05PM
My DK wouldn't hate getting in on some of that action.
CallMeIrd Jan 26th 2010 6:13PM
By the way, is there gonna be one more known as Ashen Band of OMGWTF Might? I want THAT one.
Sparcrypt Jan 26th 2010 6:04PM
This'll keep the DK in the raid happy - nice to see it happen.
Nazgûl Jan 26th 2010 6:07PM
I'd complain about the Hit, but it's such an improvement over the Agility that I can't. I just can't.
punkmeets Jan 29th 2010 6:26PM
Oh I can! If I take my ilvl 245 trinket I'm at 485 hit already! That's why I'm stuck using a 200...
Eberron Jan 26th 2010 6:10PM
Aww, no strength proc? ;)
nekorion Jan 26th 2010 6:11PM
Right so why did a str dps ring get put in, but not a tank dalaran ring get put in?
I wonder.
Xxvaceltic Jan 26th 2010 6:37PM
Add that to our non-tank friendly Battered Hilt and you've got empirical evidence that Blizzard hates tanks.
IT'S THE TROOPH.
