Urgent maintenance for select realms

The following realms will be undergoing maintenance tomorrow from 5:00 a.m. PST / 8:00 a.m. EST until 9:00 a.m. PST / Noon EST. There is no indication given as to why the maintenance is occurring, but there have been widespread reports of lag and instance problems tonight. Common lag bugs like looting taking several seconds to complete or mobs rapidly changing places have been reported on quite a few realms.
If this outage turns into something more, we'll update this post.
The realms affected by the maintenance include:

Stonemaul is also affected.

Hmm, I just ran 3 dungeons on Antonidas with no problems. Messed around in Dalaran and flew to dragonblight with no more lag than usual.
Then I come here and read this. I must be lucky.

I wish Blizzard would take special time out for other servers that crash every freaking night. *cough*Thrall*cough*
Crimpshrine Jan 27th 2010 12:38PM
*COUGH COUGH* exactly. Thrall has been averaging multiple crashes per day/night in my experience, since pretty far back into December. The most recent forum post acknowledging the situation is still from back in mid-December as far as I know, with no Thrall-specific update or word from the blues since then.
Our latest trouble was four and a half hours of inaccessibility *before* Tuesday morning maintenance. The realm was not actually fully crashed, so it wouldn't actually reset itself or show up as down on the realm status page. It was technically "up", but no one who logged out or changed alts could get back in, so eventually there were just a few dozen of us left in empty cities laughing about it in trade, and watching all of our friends attempt to log in and get immediately booted, on one alt after another.

yeah, it has seriously held out guilds progression up, sometimes if you are in an instance it won't boot you out, but it's getting beyond ridiculous at this point. It hasn't crashed since early early Tuesday morning, but that doesn't mean anything. Thrall used to be a FULL realm and now it's status is LOW....wonder why?!

Silver Hand is having these problems too. I hope they get to us soon...

Man, was half-expecting to see Kilrogg on that list, too. Tonight was pretty brutal: almost a full minute to bring up the "Character Selection" screen after I logged in, 30 seconds to open in-game mail... was not a happy camper for awhile there. Something was definitely amiss.

Lightning's Blade has been having issues ALLLL day. Lots of mail lag.. loot lag.. even when mounting up! So annoying.

Mok'Nathal has been horrible with crashing of the Northrend server. I've also noted a bunch of lagg on our instance servers, a multitude of problems with the Outland server, and at least three problems with the loot server. The entire guild's has had 'em, and I'm really glad Blizz is trying to fix them, unlike Terenas back in the day.

Title spelling is incorrect ;-)
Raioul of Shadow Council Jan 27th 2010 2:19AM
Shadow Council also got horrid lag. My guild was unable to do the weekly raid tonight due to the lag on phase 3 and it would take forever to zone into the instance after every death.

Looks like the Seattle datacenter again....

Had a problem in our ICC25 run. A few healers and tanks lagged out on Marrowgar, causing a wipe. When we all re-entered the raid, the entire chunk of trash leading to him had instantaneously repsawned. We figured oh well, free rep and went on. Still, weird. We're on Icecrown, if it makes any difference.

Bad lag in ICC for Scilla today. Still cleared everything before the professor, then did ToC for trinkets rather than waste attempts to the lag boss.
Tokkar Jan 27th 2010 3:26AM
Proudmoore is laggy during looting, and Wyrmrest Accord is still experiencing repeat dying (you kill a mob, it falls over dead, then immediately falls over dead a second time).
Cyanea Jan 27th 2010 3:35AM
Dalaran's been doing the repeated dying thing since the patch.
Now if only the mob dying twice generated twice the loot. :D
Atomsk Jan 27th 2010 9:22AM
Double Death/Double Loot sort of happened to me last week on the weekly raid (XT-002). He died and we all got badges but was suddenly back up at 5% and we killed him again for double badges.
Frank Jan 27th 2010 9:33AM
nazgrel had the repeated-dying thing last night, too.

Auchindoun Eu was brutal last night, so I'm not convinced it is a US issue. Argent joust dailies impossible, huge vendor lag, mobs trying to get behind me constantly etc etc. We put it down to a load of server transfer activity to our realm, but maybe not.
Jamesisgreat Jan 27th 2010 10:59AM
Same with EU - Aggramar. And they shut down the servers around 4AM for emergency restarts, so there was def something going on on the EU ones as well.
