Puppies. Puppies.
Aliceness asked ...
"Where might Blizzard go in terms of (maybe) implementing a new class for the next expansion? What kind of class haven't we seen?"
If and when we get a new hero class, you can probably count on it being a healer/DPS hybrid that wears mail at maximum level. We only have two specs that take advantage of spellpower mail, and they're both the same class. We also could probably use a new perspective on healing like death knights did for tanking. But, of course, they couldn't be only healers, because that's not how classes in the game work (anymore).
That's my prediction, and I'm sticking to it.
Also -- Blizzard has said many times there will not be a new class for Cataclysm, so this is a ways off.
Danielspeaks asked ...
"With the introduction of reshaping Azeroth in Cataclysm, do you think they'll create new low level instances? Or even change 'em?"
Blizzard has said that while they may not create any new 1-60 instances in Azeroth, they'll be redesigning some older instances with current design philosophies (and the Dungeon Finder) in mind.
Mousewrites asked ...
"For the achievements Epic and Superior, must you have purple/blue shirts and tabards as well?"
Nope.
Davelea asked ...
"Will the goblin and worgen mounts be available to the other classes at Exalted, and if so should I stock up on Runecloth?"
We have no idea, but it's very likely given how racial mounts have worked in the game up until now.
Dosman711 asked ...
"When is WoW.com going to update their prot paladin guides? It would be great to have a new-to-80 tanking, stats, and gear guide."
We've had a few other new-to-80/new-to-the-class guides for other classes and specs go up recently, and there'll definitely be more in the weeks to come, so if you're interested in a similar guide for protection paladins, you can do one of two things -- check out previous TLaHTSI posts where Gregg Reece talks about prot tanking, or ask him to create a Prot 101.

So we all know that come cataclysm, blizzard is doing away with the fun stats like attack and spell power, but what about the non fun required stats like hit and expertise?

You can't expect us to read an article following that picture. Why bother taking our browser off of it?

I have a question...does anybody else feel a strange love for Garfrost? Like hes some kind of loveable half wit but wants to kill you?
Ozzard Jan 29th 2010 6:57AM
Blizz have definitely been going for the fun bosses in the Wrath expansions. I've heard (but cannot verify) that raids have wiped the first time on Deconstructor - not because of poor preparation, just because everyone was laughing too hard at the voice. Then add that jowly pally in ToC - the voice artist absolutely nailed the "(Can I run away now?)" at the end. Bronjahm, complete with soundtrack and named items. But, yes, I like Garfrost. He followed me home... can I keep him?

I'm a 36 year old male, and I giggle like a schoolgirl every time Garfrost talks about his underpants. Its childish, it's stupid...and I laugh.

A DPS/Healer hybrid that wears mail at maximum level..
You mean a shaman?
Robert Jan 28th 2010 8:18PM
Classes that wear...
Cloth: 3
Leather: 2
Mail: 2
Plate: 3
So you could make a legitimate argument that it will be leather.
Andostre Jan 28th 2010 9:08PM
Blizzard may very well surprise us all and make a dps cloth class. Monks, or something, maybe!
Although a bunch of characters running around in goofy hats and brightly-colored vests making unarmed attacks would pimpalicious.
Colerejuste Jan 28th 2010 9:11PM
@Robert
My gut feel was probably not leather because rogues and kitties (and bears) have trouble enough sharing their loot as it is, without adding another class in to the mix. Where as Elemental Shaman get their spell power gear to themselves.
I had a look at splitting armor classes by role types. Had trouble drawing any conclusions other than it looks like there's an even spread in the roles, niches that probably don't get itemized very well and that any new class would have to be very interesting to be worth while.
Melee Armor Classes
Cloth: 0
Leather: 2
Mail: 1
Plate: 3
Ranged Armor Classes
Cloth: 3
Leather: 1
Mail: 2
Plate: 0
Healing Armor Classes
One of each
Tanking Armor Classes
Cloth: 0
Leather: 1
Mail: 0
Plate: 3
There are probably notes to go with this mentioning druids getting the spread across all role types (though paying with the Hybrid Tax), and there could be further breakdown within the healer role catering for tank or raid healing. For example, could Disc and Holy priests afford to count as 2? Given the direction that Blizz might take with adjusting stats via talents, Holy and Disc priests might go for the same item in Cataclysm, and get different secondary stats via talents.. which would mean just saying 1 for cloth healers would be on the money.
Anyway, thought provoking stuff, and I'm sure we'll see alot more speculation on the next heroic class after the release of Cataclysm.
Dennis Jan 29th 2010 1:28PM
I want a ranged plate class!

How come in Darkshore and Ashenvale everywhere you see Naga you see Twilight Cultists? When did they get together? And why?
Johan Forn Jan 28th 2010 8:31PM
The naga are usually found around their ruined highborne cities, (partially) sunken by the sundering. Darkshore is full of those ruins. The Twilight Cultists gather there because of the Old God's presence. You can see the slain body of one.
Johan Forn Jan 28th 2010 8:41PM
O and both are ultimately puppets/creations of the Old Gods.
Camaris Jan 29th 2010 3:35AM
You misspelled 'puppies'.
Yes.. they are all puppies of the Old Gods.
outlier Jan 28th 2010 8:15PM
Why are the raid markers skull cross star moon etc. Why not something more conventional like "1, 2, 3, 4, 5" etc?
krizzlybear Jan 28th 2010 8:46PM
Also consider that WoW is also marketed to countries that do not necessarily rely on arabic numerals. Japanese/Korean/Chinese players would see no difference between 1/2/3/4/5/etc. and skull/x/diamond/triangle/star/etc.
alpha5099 Jan 28th 2010 9:04PM
@krizzleybear
Huh? Asian countries use arabic numerals extensively. There is no reason Chinese or Korean players would be recognize 1, 2, or 3.
Sir7 Jan 29th 2010 7:18AM
Plus numbers, like symbols, look DIFFERENT from each other. That is really rude to assume people in Asia can't tell squiggles apart from each other. :\
JAREDO Jan 29th 2010 2:17PM
By the way, in the Asia builds they use the applicable languages. Otherwise, the hardest part of playing WoW for them would be figuring out what they're supposed to do next.
