Aliceness asked ...
"Where might Blizzard go in terms of (maybe) implementing a new class for the next expansion? What kind of class haven't we seen?"
If and when we get a new hero class, you can probably count on it being a healer/DPS hybrid that wears mail at maximum level. We only have two specs that take advantage of spellpower mail, and they're both the same class. We also could probably use a new perspective on healing like death knights did for tanking. But, of course, they couldn't be only healers, because that's not how classes in the game work (anymore).
That's my prediction, and I'm sticking to it.
Also -- Blizzard has said many times there will not be a new class for Cataclysm, so this is a ways off.
Danielspeaks asked ...
"With the introduction of reshaping Azeroth in Cataclysm, do you think they'll create new low level instances? Or even change 'em?"
Blizzard has said that while they may not create any new 1-60 instances in Azeroth, they'll be redesigning some older instances with current design philosophies (and the Dungeon Finder) in mind.
Mousewrites asked ...
"For the achievements Epic and Superior, must you have purple/blue shirts and tabards as well?"
Nope.
Davelea asked ...
"Will the goblin and worgen mounts be available to the other classes at Exalted, and if so should I stock up on Runecloth?"
We have no idea, but it's very likely given how racial mounts have worked in the game up until now.
Dosman711 asked ...
"When is WoW.com going to update their prot paladin guides? It would be great to have a new-to-80 tanking, stats, and gear guide."
We've had a few other new-to-80/new-to-the-class guides for other classes and specs go up recently, and there'll definitely be more in the weeks to come, so if you're interested in a similar guide for protection paladins, you can do one of two things -- check out previous TLaHTSI posts where Gregg Reece talks about prot tanking, or ask him to create a Prot 101.

As someone who can't raid, I would still really like to see how the Lich King saga ends. Will WoW.com do a spoiler filled post about the end of that saga once we know how it ends?
Bryan Dare Jan 28th 2010 8:23PM
Don't know if this will be helpful or not, but I'm sure mmo-champion will post the ending cinematic for the fight when it gets put into the game. I know I'll be keeping an eye out for that, as I am in the same position as yourself.
Daniel Jan 29th 2010 1:26AM
I suspect Bryan Dare is correct...also keep a look out for the rest of ICC: The Movie, if its anything like Ulduar:The Movie till show everything you'd like to see (I personally hope it is just as good as Ulduar: The Movie cause I love that whole thing, every time is see it I wanna play WoW)

Why I can open LFG browser at level 15 but it keeps saying im suppos to level up for dungeons like deadmines and ragefire chasm to queue up for them.. isnt that bit useless teaser?
Possum Jan 28th 2010 8:31PM
I'm pretty sure you can queue for Ragefire Chasm at level 15..?
Valt Jan 29th 2010 8:08AM
I couldnt before level 16 or 17, no.
vanye111 Jan 29th 2010 8:38AM
I was able to do RFC at 15 on an alt server (Dark Iron).

QUESTION: There was a bunch of news here on WoW.com a few weeks back about the Cataclysm F&F Beta starting. Any news regarding wether or not that actually happened?
Irem Jan 28th 2010 8:59PM
It didn't. The person who originally broke the news ("wowleak" on Twitter) posted a week or so later saying he'd made the whole thing up to prove a point to a friend. The only point I can think of that he would have been trying to make is that people are so starved for Cata info that they're watching the internet like a hawk for anything that remotely resembles a leak, fansites included, and at the risk of sounding like Captain Obvious, I could have told him that.
MMO-Champion posted a day or so before Wowleak admitted they'd made it up, saying there was no news of the alpha yet and that there might not even be one. That's pure speculation based on the fact that apparently not much real testing gets done in the F&F alpha, but interesting nevertheless.

After the Lich King is killed is there a possibility that there will be a 5-man version of ICC for those who cannot raid?
I know it is very unlikely but I cannot raid because of time restrictions and was wondering if Blizzard has said anything about implementing this.
Thanks!

I would say highly, highly doubtful. But as the weeks go by there will be a buff inside icc that will slowly make it easier and easier. I think as cataclysm nears the place will be very easy to pug and see for everyone with 232 gear lvls.
I think blizz really wants everyone to see the place. Sooner or later.
Possum Jan 28th 2010 8:30PM
I'd like to see some of the Lore classes being developed into a real class, like the trolls Shadowhunters or the Brewmaster (a dwarf who has to drink to fight would be pretty awesome). Apothacaries (not the profession) would be a similar concept, only they'd have spells that hurl potions I suppose and have powerful self buffs?
Irem Jan 28th 2010 9:35PM
I think I would probably just die of joy if we got Shadow Hunters. They wear mail, they use ranged DPS weapons (currently only used by hunters as anything other than a stat thinger), and they can heal. They have the potential to be a class with some nifty debuffs in the form of hexes, and they had a pretty interesting mitigation ability (IIRC a shield that protects everyone in their immediate area from incoming damage for a short time, but doesn't protect the shadow hunter themselves).

Can I have my Witch Doctor class?
Neyssa Jan 29th 2010 2:30AM
I was wondering about making healing into something like warlocks, or a better example, the green dragon in Oculus. It would target the enemy, and put leeching debuffs (lets call it hex and imagine it as a witch doctor) on it, which could work like warlock curses (1 type only). There would be an aoe heal hex, and when you want to heal a single target, you put on a different type of hex. It would be a dinamic healing and decursing style, with lots of movement.
Removing curses or poisons would mean 'counterspelling' it, you remove it from a friendly target by redirecting it to the enemy. It would also do a small amount of damage, something like half of a normal dps.
I personally want to play with a healer dryad, but I guess it will never happen because the armor doesnt fit the four-legged design. I wish the druid tree form would be dryad :)

two questions:
1: How many wow.com writers actually read the comments in their articles?
2: I remember there was a period during TBC when server maintenances would just be rolling restarts, and long downtimes were rare. However, for pretty much all of Wrath, every Tuesday is at least 6 hours of downtime. Is there something about Wrath that requires more maintenance?
seanthehorde Jan 28th 2010 10:02PM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the reason is because Activision hadn't bought Blizzard yet and started meddling in their affairs
vanye111 Jan 29th 2010 8:44AM
As I recall, the lack of downtime was after Sunwell dropped, and before they started nerfing it. Basically, when there was no new content. When nothing is changing, a reboot is usually all that's needed.
We've had periods like that in this expansion, but not at many, because we've been getting content at a pretty regular rate. Plus, and I think this is a bigger reason, we have new, server intensive, technologies in effect. Phasing eats a LOT of processor power (as I see every time I go into a phasing intensive area, my system takes a pretty serious hit) so that will cause some problems that will require reboots a little more often, and maybe some more serious maintenance.
Now, if they would just replace the Thrall-US server cluster to fix the horrendous lag and server outages...

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a to--
Er...
So... The question about a new class, which we know won't certaintly won't come in Cataclysm, got me thinking. Taking into consideration that Death Knights weren't a new class so much as they were new for us to descecrate the lands with; What classes have there been in other Warcraft games that we haven't seen in WoW, ignoring those with an "Arch" prefix?
Alice Jan 28th 2010 8:44PM
aliceness here: this was kind of what i was getting at - i knew death knights were a class in WC2, i was kind of wondering if there are other classes that have been in lore but haven't been implemented yet. i think another healer class would be cool though... but it might also be cool to see something like a shaman, wherein they can spec heals, melee dps and ranged dps... currently they are the only heals/dps class with that ability.
thanks for answering my question though, yay!
