Looking for Group by Michelle Madison is a fun WoW spoof of Lionel Richie's Hello, is it me you're looking for? The video was created using in-game footage, so there's not many fancy machinima techniques. This seems to be Michelle's first machinima video, so a lot of the production values are at that opening level of sophistication.
Michelle did a great job of the vocals, and I enjoyed her singing. I think she managed to nail a WoW-version of Richie's singing, which is a pretty interesting trick to have pulled off. The video was fine for this level of work. It doesn't have a lot of flash-bang, but mostly exists to complement the lyrics of the song.
Overall, this was a fun video to watch. I hope Michelle gets enough feedback that she continues grow a repertoire. If not, then I hope she at least enjoyed dipping her toe in the waters of machinima creation.

I'm not sure I liked it. IMO, the voice didn't fit, but that's not really surprising. I kind of thought the lyrics were a bit stumbly too. Too many syllables shoved into too little space on a lot of lines. On the plus side though, I think that the song and subject was a great choice, and the lyrics in themselves were really good.
why are people thumbing this down, this is possibly the most politely worded negative comment I have ever seen on this site. and it's not even entirely negative!
This video was purely a spur of the moment thing for me I did in a few hours total with limited tools at my disposal. If I ever do make another video or song in the future I am going to need to invest in a few programs, some equipment, and some more time. I just had this yearning to do a sad, sappy, cheesy song for WoW yesterday ... and then it happened. Hopefully I don't insult anyone with the production value. :)
I do love parodies of things though, and this was fun, so you just might see one from me again.
Here's a tip from the title option in YouTube. Remove the ".wmv" at the end, doesn't hurt it to be there, but makes the title look nicer, and not just like the file's name.
My main tip is to get the full version of FRAPS and not use the free version. There's no difference in quality, but you can record longer clips and not have that distracting watermark at the top.
Very cute voice, sounds so earnest and eager to please, which fits perfectly with the tone of the song. (And not in a dirty way, boys. :P )
My only crit, really, is that she's trying to fit too many syllables into some of the lines, particularly 'I'm looking for group'. There's really only room for 3 syllables there, not 4 or 5.
When I watched the vid my thought after the first 10 seconds was "Oooooh.... stupid sweet," but I have to say that it really grew on me quickly after that. I'm a healer, and I have every intention of chasing one of our tanks through the streets of Dalaran tonight, singing it in vent. LOL

Wow! Someone actually using the Looking for Raid Group option. And I thought those people were a myth.

Heck no, i'm in there all the time. Along with the over 9000 DPS.
I have yet to see a healer in it at all unfortunately.

I took "you know just how to pull and you know just what to do" to a dirty place...
Still, nice parody. Not the best I've heard but I'd totally sing these lyrics if I was ever in a situation where the real song played.
Then I'd kill myself for being in a situation where the real song played.

Great parody. Awesome job!
On that note, now this song is going to be stuck in my head all day. ARGH!

Excellent! I really loved it and your voice is cute :) I'm looking forward to seeing your next videos!

That was a cute little video.
The singer has a nice voice, and they did a good job rhyming all the little weird WoW terms we deal with every day.
That said, the song is kind of slow and I think it made me yawn a couple times. Not really my kind of music.
Overall, a really good first attempt. Definitely hoping for a second one.

Cute stuff. A little compression on the vocals would have gone a long way.

"Are you somewhere wiping repeatedly / Or is someone rezzing you" made me LOL!
For a quick beginner effort, that was really cute! :) I enjoyed it.
Claq Jan 28th 2010 3:34PM
yeah, she should of said "L F G" for the line instead, as it would have the same meaning and have the correct number of syllables to fit.

Nice homage to all the casuals. I'm sure somewhere out there Lionel is looking for a group too...
