Around Azeroth: Betrayal
This screenshot, snapped by Vineath of <Danish Legends> on Stormrage-EU, shows fan-favorite evil troll Drakuru being slain by the Lich King (spoiler alert for anyone time traveling from December 2008!) Poor Drakuru. I only wish he could return from the dead to get his revenge. Wouldn't that be a great ending for the final fight of Icecrown Citadel? And then Fonzie can jump over a shark.

Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

Time Traveler: OMG! he dies?! MUST-TELL-WOW.COM!... ohwait!
Fletcher Jan 29th 2010 1:13AM
Slain by the lich king? I could have sworn I recalled killing him with a giant berserk troll atop a Scourge citadel.
Very nice screenshot, though, either way. Tres pretty.
Faar Jan 29th 2010 12:24PM
You don't KILL him with the troll... When you've worn him down low enough (with the troll), HE kills the troll and starts yammering about doing the same to you, at which point Arthas shows up through a deathgate, disses Drakuru and then blows him up into bloody chunks.
...Oh, and *spoiler alert*, for all the people who've waited a year to do a single quest in Zul'drak... ;)

What if like after the Lich king died and Bolvar took his place. Bolvar would control the scourge and possibly make them neutral. An neutral faction?? and even then if the burning leagion came back the scrourge would be a great weapon against the legion.
Arbitor Jan 29th 2010 1:44PM
1.) If Bolvar could still control himself and the scourge enough to make them a neutral faction, they wouldn't neutral.
2.) We would never have to prove ourselves and get rep up with "The scourge".
Is a nice idea but I think poor Bolvar is gonna have to bite the big one, psychologically.
He's gonna be a new Arthas, just with less territory and no desire to destroy everything.

Lordy, can you imagine an Undead troll wing in ICC, headed by Drakuru?
David Jan 29th 2010 10:53AM
Thanks, hadn't actually finished that questline.
Not everyone is loremaster you know... -.-
Kia Jan 29th 2010 10:56AM
It's been over a year, hon. I'm sorry to say I think the statute of limitations on Wrath launch content is over. :(
calaf Jan 29th 2010 12:23PM
So should we also never talk about Saurfang? or the fact that DeathKnights arent isolated and killing off peasants forever. There has to be a limit.
Pauguster Jan 29th 2010 10:56AM
This was one of the most satisfying quests I've done in a long time. You do not use me to get power. Especially not power I want.
David Jan 29th 2010 11:09AM
Not everyone has been playing Wrath since launch though, it seems a little churlish to state that just because it's been a little over a year that means all surprises are now fair game to be ruined.
It's common courtesy to not do that, or at the absolute minimum put a spoiler alert BEFORE the post.
Disappointing.
Throck Jan 29th 2010 12:49PM
SPOILER ALERT
Using your logic, David, every post that discussed anything in the game at any time would need a spoiler alert since someone somewhere probably didn't get to that part yet. By the way, Mankrik's wife is a corpse in one of the huts southwest of the bridge.
Kyrro Jan 29th 2010 11:31AM
I actually never did any quests in Zul'Drak because it seems so utterly boring. Now I can choose:
a) OMFG, HEARD OF SPOILER ALERT HAVE YEEE?!
or
b) Well, I had a year to complete the questline, I guess it's my own fault it got spoiled.
/start sarcasm
Only me who's thinks there cannot be enough troll raids and wish for a new one in Zul'Drak?
/end sarcasm
David Jan 29th 2010 12:37PM
So selfish!
Calaf, who makes you the arbiter of when it's OK to talk about something?
It's simply polite to add a spoiler to the front. Some people make a point of not spoiling the surprise for themselves, or others, until they can experience it for themselves and you don't have the right to ruin that.
I'm surprised that a polite request to simply not spoil things or at least warn of it is getting such a selfish reaction, it's very self centered, egotistical and frankly rather childish.
jellyphish Jan 29th 2010 1:46PM
Been playing Wrath since launch, have no idea what quest chain this is talking about, nor any of the lore behind it, but would still be completely surprised and enjoy the event if i came about it in game...Surely this post couldn't have spoiled anything for anyone who doesn't already know what's going on...
But we digress...it's a tight screenshot.

If everyone who needed to get some sort of revenge against Arthas got it there'd be a line from the bottom of the spire to the top.
Bubsa Jan 29th 2010 2:11PM
"And then Fonzie can jump over a shark."
I lol'd ^^
Think he already has though *cough*Faction change
Taytayflan Jan 29th 2010 4:31PM
I wish we could res him, he was such a considerate NPC.

Hmm, maybe Horde have a different ending to that quest line. When I myself finished that quest line at DTK after killing the Prophet, i Summoned Drakuru, who told me he had been working for Arthas the whole time. So Arthas comes out of the portal, turns him into a DK, and leaves. Drakuru tells me the equivalent of "Hay, thanks for helping out, you should think about signing up with Arthas too" and wanders off.
