I am NOT showing this to one of my cats. Right now, when she wants ear scratches, she hops up on the chair next to me (Yes, I put it there so they could lie NEXT to me.), meows and then stands on my leg. At 17 pounds, that's a mite uncomfortable. Then, I raise my arms and she climbs into my lap. While she's warm on these bitter cold nights, she's bigger than my lap and I still haven't found the correct position for the keyboard to accommodate proper wrist angle and cat. Guild members know when I type, "COL", I'm doing the best I can. Mercifully, she currently only lasts for 20 minutes and then has to leave. The other one is not interested in that kind of closeness, yet.
Still, this is a bit better than one of my dearly departed felines who loved to "assist" with raiding instructions. She could be sound asleep, but the minute I'd load up Vent and say, "Hi guys," she was rightthere to lend her voice to the raid. Guild members have said they do miss her meows.

Cat to keyboard ratio is a hard formula to balance, however my cat lays in my lap for the entire duration that I play WoW, so if I do a 4 hour raid she's right there with me. We've established that I'm allowed to get into position, then she drapes her neck OVER my wrist so we're both where we want to be....I just can't move my wrist until the raid is over. :P
Gimmlette Jan 29th 2010 2:30PM
@ZMES, the head on wrist would annoy me. As it is, she MUST lie with her head to the left as I'm right handed. I remember WOWInsider had a poll on "Are you a button masher or a key clicker". I use both hands. It's tough when ear scratching is required so we've agreed that I can use my left hand for that while I key click with my right hand on my mouse. I have to watch the tail, however. This gal's tail has knocked over my beer and sent the mouse flying.
I used to have one (since gone over the Rainbow Bridge) who would lie in my lap from start of WOW time to end of WOW time, but she was half the size of this current gal so I didn't mind it.
My daughter's computer desk has shelving above the space where her monitor is. When her Maine Coon thinks she's playing too much, he climbs into the space above the monitor and lets his tail hang down across the screen.
One of my guild members has a ferret. She got annoyed at him one night and, when he went to get a drink during a break, swiped his headset. Of course, she couldn't get very far, as it was plugged into his computer, but he returned to his desk to find it snapped in two. Seems she tried to leap from the desk onto the nearby chair with it in her mouth.

My bed and my desk touch. so my dog loves to hop on the bed and "sneakily" crawl over to me inching her snout closer and closer to me until she is half on the desk half on the keyboard and half on the bed she just takes up that much room

Off topic question about the important pets (WoW vanity pets)- Last night I decided to start a new toon so I made priest, mailed her a few bags, gold, and the BOA stuff from my main, then logged in onto her. I then ran her straight to Goldshire to get the stuff and Woa and Behold there was the pug pet and another one I cant quite remember...
Is that a mistake or since I have earned those 2 pets on one of my toons will they always be available to my new toons?
ZMES_Matt Jan 29th 2010 2:01PM
There are certain pets you will always get when you start a new toon. The Pug pet however shouldn't be one of them, since it's something that you have to earn through an acheivment...unless you happened to group with 100 random people in the dungeon finder before you got to a mailbox. :P
Saphia Jan 29th 2010 2:13PM
Could it have been the puppy core hound instead? If you have an authenticator you would get that one in your box.
biglou Jan 29th 2010 2:57PM
To tell the truth it may have been the corehound pet. That makes more sense. Thx Saphia =D

Haha I love this picture! My cats do this not to mention jump on my lap and knock out my headset cord and all sorts of other fun things while I'm raiding/heroics-ing. *raises fist*....I love my cats :P I'll have to send in some pictures of mine and their ridiculous WoW-interrupting ways...

Deadly. Off. Topic. Jan 29th 2010 1:40PM
For clarification: I mean it looks like a keyboard in the front and the monitor in the back, but what is that big red thing.
Koompje Jan 29th 2010 2:15PM
It's a Logitech G15 keyboard.. has a built in LCD screen. I have one too

This is one of my cat's tactics to get me to stop playing WoW and pay attention to him...
