WRUP: Not in Azeroth edition

- Adam Holisky (@adamholisky): jIH DichDaq taH reHlI' Hov leng Online Hoch juS. Qapla'! [Editor's note: we were asked not to translate, so you're sadly on your own for this one.]
- Alex Ziebart (@alexziebart): I'll probably just be running my heroics for Frost Emblems, but that's just about all I'm putting into WoW this weekend. Well, that and my Sunday raid. The rest of my gaming time will be dedicated to Mass Effect 2, which was my most anticipated game of 2010. It's pretty much amazing, and has immediately made Mass Effect 3 my most anticipated game of the next decade.
- Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert): probably gearing my shaman a bit more, and even though I say this every week, leveling his jewelcrafting. I keep meaning to do it, but it's just...so annoying. Also, going to experiment with my main to see just how much content I can solo.
- C. Christian Moore (@thearenaguy): One of the last aspects I have to succeed in with WoW is mass-gold generation. I'm going to be powerleveling inscription this weekend. I've been stocking this week on inscription mats -- some scribe was going out of business or something and I purchased a lot of materials at exceptionally low prices. I've bought 50 stacks of Ink of the Sea and ~30ish stacks of Icethorn. I'm guessing that'll get me somewhere around 450. I just hit 75 on my paladin by using low-level herbs (peacebloom/silverleaf) and will be going for 400 something when I can find a high level scribe to mill my Icethorn. My goal is to make a net profit of 10,000g next week. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
- Chase Christian (@madsushi): Going to party with David, hopefully get the Blood-Queen down in the Crimson Halls. I'm also hoping my Starcraft 2 beta key becomes useful this year!
- Christian Belt (@ihatewarlocks): Mass Effect. I missed out on it when it was new, but the good news about my procrastination? While you payed $60 for it, I snagged it used for $7.99! Suck on that, everybody! And now I will burn through it as quickly as possible so that I can hurry up and play its sequel, which I just bought... for $60. Is it too late to take back my "suck on that" comment? Oh, and most anticipated: gotta be Cataclysm.
- Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb): I'll probably continue to play through Mass Effect 2. I might log on WoW long enough to do my dungeon dailies and grab those frost emblems, but no promises. As for the game of 2010 I'm mostly looking forward to? I'd say it was Mass Effect 2, which is already out and every bit as beautiful as I'd hoped it'd be. As far as things yet to come in 2010, you know I'm looking forward to the Cataclysm expansion, of course.
- Elizabeth Wachowski: Playing Mass Effect 2, particularly if we end up snowed in. I'm looking forward to Bioshock 2. After that? Any chance Fallout: New Vegas is coming out on time? Yeah, probably not.
- Eliah Hecht (@eliah): Taking a weekend trip up to Boston to see a friend, so probably no WoW for me. Game I'm most looking forward to? Cataclysm. Duh.
- Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen): I've been leveling up a druid lately over on the Horde side of my server (gasp! traitor!) so I might do that for a while. Even though druids are clearly inferior to shadow priests in every way. Oh, and most looked forward to game? Final Fantasy XIII, hands down. So excited.
- Gregg Reece: I plan on spending Saturday afternoon with my very pregnant wife watching movies and Sunday tanking Plagueworks in Icecrown.
- Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra): I'll be recovering from surgery, and seeing if I'll still be able to play WoW. Also planning on renting Bayonetta and Darksiders. Games I'm looking forward to? Dante's Inferno and the Edgeworth Ace Attorney game. Yeah, I went there.
- Matt Low (@matticus): Busy playing through Mass Effect 1 before hitting Mass Effect 2.
- Michael Gray (@writegray): I'll be poking at the Crimson Hall. My most anticipated game? Surely, WoW on the iPad. No, really, that's what I'm hoping for nightly.
- Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel): Weekend is family time as usual, so there will be some flavor of Rock Band for all of us, and The Spawn and I will be tackling our first raid in Toontown (4-man Sellbot Factory). After hours, The Spousal Unit and I will be Dungeon Findering with our baby draenei pallies. (I'm the tank and he's the healer, so no wait at any hour.) I wish Diablo 3 were coming out this year, otherwise I have a highly anticipated date with the goblin starting zones in Cataclysm.

mass effect 2 is so awesome
Alkaios Jan 30th 2010 2:29PM
I know, I feel TERRIBLE downloading it for free offline, because the gameplay is leaps and bounds past the first Mass Effect. I'm seriously considering buying a copy for the extra content, such a great game...well, great enough to take me away from WoW for a few days (beat it last night).
Evandrial Jan 30th 2010 3:03PM
yeah, i already beat it as well. i kind of always do that: a game offers hours and hours of extra play through side missions and exploration, but i ignore all that stuff and just finish the storyline. kind of screwing myself out of what i already payed for

I too wish Diablo III was coming out this year.

Yeah, personally I see no reason why anyone would play STO over Mass Effect 2. Its only the pre-order head-start, and if I was one of them, I know I'd feel like a sucker for spending 60-300$ on that, instead of the 60, or even 120 or so bucks, on getting Dragon Age and ME 2.

I LOVE MASS EFFECT 2
MasterAsh Jan 30th 2010 3:07PM
Mass Effect 2 is just another big-name title that doesn't resonate with me. Then again, if I wasn't so behind with other games, maybe I'd be more enthused.
I don't know. . .The setting leaves me cold. There's certain styles of sci-fi that just don't do it for me.
Nick S Jan 31st 2010 12:53AM
I'm surprised to hear that. At worst, ME2 seems like a great game that maybe doesn't click with the genres you enjoy. But even in that case, it's head and shoulders above 90% of what's out there.
Jamesisgreat Jan 30th 2010 3:17PM
Hmmm - now I feel obliged to play Mass Effect (once I'm done with Dragon Age). Though I can't find Mass Effect for $7.99 like Christian did - anyone any ideas where I could find such a bargain?!

Ah, the EA store had a great deal going on a week or two ago. Just checked, and I think it's long gone now.
On an off note though, with a coupon code, I got Mass Effect for $5. Best $5 I ever spent.

I assume what Adam said has something to do with Star Trek Online since it is in Klingon. I'm not much of a Star Trek nerd to figure out what exactly he said but the last word was a big hint.

Cancelled my ST pre-order (like I cancelled Lotro and War back then).
Terrible game. The only MMORPG I liked a little (for 3 months) was PotBS. ST is terrible in its space combat and a real joke in its instanced (corridors !) land combat.
Can't seem to find any other game besides WoW. And I don't know but the fun keeps me in now for 4.5 years now.
Had a great defensive battle in Lake WIntergrasp at 08.PM. First destroying two towers in the south and then took me a fast vehicule and defended the two breached walls of our Keep to the death. Playing a healer is great these days in LW and the BG's.
What a game. I also think that after such a thrilling victory you should log off for a few hours. It gives you the pleasure of the ... winning and the frustration of the Horde to have NOT have LW in prime time :)).
Still played COD World at WAR a few times, but that's the only game that gets attention from me.
So many more things to do in WOW still.
Oh BTW: the Magazine I got yesterday and it was GREAT on giving playing tips in the achievement department.
Remark: I don't think editors who get PAID to publish on wow.com should be making publicity for terrible designed games anyway.
People have already lost enough money on the duds in this gaming industry. WOW, a liitle bit of COD. The rest is pure and utter garbish.

I, being five years behind the times, just bought Portal, Half-Life 2 and its expansions this weekend, so I'm playing though them. It's the first 'other' game I've actually played since I started playing WoW in '07. Little part of me wonder if I'm finally getting bored with what WoW has to offer, like I did with Eve online before that. Episode 2 just finished downloading, gotta run!

Dang all this talk of new MMOs make me wish Tabula Rasa didnt shut down.
That game was very fun and a nice change from WoW for the couple months it was up. Just thought id share that :)

I believe the translation to Adam's answer is: "The login server is down again!?"
