I've tried to have getaway toons. But in the end I miss my guild. I always send them back there. All 10 toons I have on my server are in my guild so I don't miss anytime with my guildies. Recently I did make an opposite faction toon on another server to honestly experience something different and also at the time I had just played bad cop to the raid and felt pretty crappy. I did need some alone time. I guess I'll see how long that lasts :P
