Dataminers around the world are rejoicing as the datafiles for tomorrow's patch, patch 3.3.2, are starting to trickle down into our hands. MMO-Champion's Boubouille in particular immediately dug up the cinematic for the Fall of the Lich King, sealing the fate of Arthas and heralding a new king.
The cinematic confirms what many of us have known all along: the identity of the new King of the Damned.

Very epic in my opinion. Can't wait to get there myself.

Watching the cinematic shows great potential of what can happen to arthas' body because jaina or sylvanas will want to see the lich king some how sylvanas for revenge and jaina to see any hope left in Arthas and if you have done the DK questline and tirion at the end with darion says the lich king knows whats buried under lights hope chapel ( its where heroes throught azeroth are buried) im guessing Arthas will still be placed in this tomb or near lorderon but ive read that terenas' body is not buried in the tomb which you see entering the undercity so just by the cenematic theres bound to be more story to this and for Bolvar wheather or not hes good or evil probably wont be explained seeing as Arthas/the lich king was awakened for like 4 years later so i believe Cataclysm will be brought out before anything will ever be done with Bolvar and tirion will be another major focus factor in a new patch/expansion. but as for the whole Bolvar becoming lich king i would have to say he may just become corrupted if its anything like the book where slowly its only the lich king that controls him and his body is mearly a tool. I guess there was still a little bit of arthas left so you have to know Ner'zul is still inside that armor and helmet i have a bad feeling about Bolvar.

@nate
What?
170 words went by before you used a period.

Yes, very epic. But I can't help feel that Arthas got more a "Epic" farewell than Bolvar.
So Arthas gets this nice music and a nice little farewell from his father, great ending for the Lich King, great ending for the Expansions final encounter.
But though it is "The Lich King's Expansion" I feel that Bolvar, needed a bit more love. I myself now am getting 1000 gold for guessing it right from a friend, as y'know there was a lot of evidence pointing towards it. And I personally feel Bolvar has shown after a year of holding his will against the Lich King that he is one of the best Paladin's(I have qoutes calling him a Paladin, but others calling him a warrior) And I felt his good bye was too "Emoish", claiming this is all he can do now, nothing left for him etc etc, things like that. This is one THE greatest Alliance figures of all time! And his reward... To be damned to keep the undead in place. I like how he says "Jailor" rather than "King" suggesting that he will try to keep the undead in place, rather than keep on the Lich Kings assault on the living.
Another thing is, I don't see much of a Argent Crusade or Ebon Blade ending here, hopefully a quest line will clear up if Mograine will be laid to rest, or if the Argent Crusade will turn is eyes to another threat.
Good ending to a great tale, the tale of the prince becoming a king.
"No King rules forever"
One of the best qoutes through out the game

My question is... where are we?
You know... the guys who fought him?
Personally, I wanna see us get blown clear off of the Frozen Throne, with the alliance and horde falling off with the collapsible floors or something at the end.
Then the cinematic plays, followed by a phased event where your character wakes up from being unconscious, seeing knocked out comrades littering the landscape around us.
Only for Tirion to proclaim in a massive burst of light that the Lich King is dead from the top of Icecrown!
Then we all cheer a bit and are like "Wooo yeah we did it"...
But what happens there is anybody's guess...

It's sad because it makes you realize that Arthas never really had a choice. He took up Frostmourne to slay Mal'Ganis and save his people, the blade stole his soul and from then on he was controlled by the lich king, even when he merged with him. And now he is finally free.
On a separate note I noticed that Arthas' voice actor sounded more like Arthas from WC3 rather than CoS.

Arbitor: Remember that in the Halls of Reflection, we're told by Uther that there must always be a Lich King. So we have to know that more happened up there than Tirion is saying. So he'll probably tell us what happened and that we have to keep quiet or something.

Hail to the king, baby.

I know this is about the storyline but... am I the only one who cares about Tirion's gorgeous model here? I don't recall ever seeing it before. I hope they place it in game!
Look at the detail on his face! Wow! If the human males looked like that in the game I'd actually play one....happily!

^This, I totally agree. He looks awesome, first time I actually considered rolling a human. Very nice indeed.

Bolvar were slaved by the lich king when they tried to enter the Icecrown and storm it. Bolvar was taken by the scourge and tortured so much, but miraculy alive. He were then taken by the dragon queen and her helpers. They made him what he is now.. the Dragonslave.

Korialstrasz says: My Queen, do they know?
Alexstrasza the Life-Binder says: No, my beloved.
Alexstrasza: [Draconic] They must not discover the fate of the young paladin. Not yet.
Korialstrasz nods.
Korialstrasz says: They will not.
So that was what happened to Bolvar! He became... lavaish. It also explains another thing Alexstraza said:
"All is not lost. From the ashes of the fallen will rise a force that will unite nations and purge the evil from this world."
She knew it all along! He literally rose from the ashes! Wow, that's epic. Well, it's clear she knew what Bolvar's destiny was, so obviously she intentionally bound him to the flames of the Life-Giver and "sealed his fate", so he could finish his task. Purging the evil from the world isn't an easy one.
As for King Varian...
"The Dragon Queen is right, . All is not lost. I will be the force that rises from the ashes and I will purge the evil of the Horde from this world. The deaths of our brothers and sisters will not have been in vain. "
Err... riiight... I can't imagine Varian as the new Lich King, but I'm sure he didn't know wtf Alex really was talking about(who did though?).
Well, I'm satisfied, very nice ending.
Deadly. Off. Topic. Feb 2nd 2010 9:38AM
My thoughts are that even though he'll try to keep them in check... everyone in Azeroth eventually goes insane... so how long until his mind breaks under the pressure and we have to come back and kill him too?

No Ner'Zhul and no Darion.
I'm a just a wee bit disappointed.

Maybe these are the new models for Cataclysm.

to the poster asking where are we. Well that's pretty easy due to the nature of WoW end-game. There's nothing epic individually about any of the 10 or 25 people that finish a raid. It's not like other games (or about any movie) where there is a small group of heroes that save the day. You are part of a larger force and hence forego the individual fame associated with someone like Frodo, Luke Skywalker, Beowulf or the few main characters of any Star Trek series. In most books/movies the heroes are a small band.
There's nothing special about a dpser in a raid or a healer, from a story point. If anything, the tank (or tanks) would be the epic portion of a cinematic.
I think if you want to see epic endings where the world is saved by a small band of heroes, look at the cinematics in Guild Wars, or the play in Lord of the Rings Online, or other games such as HALO, God of Wars, etc. I games with large raids, the epic character is always going to be the boss or some heroic npc. There's just nothing heroic about 25 people that defeat a boss. It's the tradeoff I suppose.
Even when there is a raid (such as 300, there will only be a few characters that are shown as the actual heroes. Again, it would probably be your tanks or one or two dpsers, but who's going to pick which ones. I think that's why the WoW movie will not be like the WoW game. They have to have individual heroes. 5-mans fit that description. Raids do not.

Epic.
