Around Azeroth: Not quite a bohemian grove
As a rule, the undead aren't nature types. You'll rarely see a Forsaken family go on a camping trip, splash through the surf on Westfall's beaches, or just lay back and relax in a field of flowers. (There are some notable exceptions.) It might be the whole rot thing, or that whenever they try to participate in outdoor activities, various local carnivores try to chew the marrow from their bones. Immobile of Skullcrusher is spending some forced time in communion with nature while leveling through Ashenvale, and he looks like he's hating every minute of it. Damn hippie night elves and their trees!
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

Gorgeous shot.

Where's Byron?!?! :P
Just joking, that is a lovely shot. I especially like the smoldering ground behind him.
Faar Feb 2nd 2010 10:13AM
Where the heck is that shot taken, exactly? I've tromped up and down Ashenvale more times than I care to count, and I can't tell!

That's Demon Fall Canyon, south of Felfire Hill. It's where Mannoroth died. Unfortunately some orcs went and graffitoed up the place with a monument to that monumental idiot, the fool who willingly drank the blood of Mannoroth not once but twice, Grom Hellscream.

Yeah but he managed to dot Mannoroth before he wiped, so he’s a hero. Thrall self-rezzed but didn’t feel like casting ancestral spirit on the fury warrior that couldn’t be bothered to wear full plate on a boss fight, thus a failed attempt at boosting local tourism was erected in the canyon and Grom spent the rest of his days making the long corpse run across Ashenvale, desperately wishing he had rolled night elf for the wisp bonus

Several things:
First, the shot is really nice. It seems very surreal - to think that most would never take the time to notice a shot like this, thanks Immobile.
Secondly, clicking on the "notable exceptions" link takes you to his Immobile's Armory page - intentional?
Lastly, the Armory page isn't linking the heirloom staff properly. It's showing the same equip bonuses on my 69 as Immobile, level 30. Bug? Unrelated to AA, I know, but wanna check if it's my cookies or something or an actual armory bug.
Rowan Feb 2nd 2010 10:32AM
Those bonuses being 343 SP and 60-some crit rating...little high, it seems.
Fletcher Feb 2nd 2010 11:01AM
The "notable exceptions" link was almost certainly meant to link to http://www.wow.com/2009/12/07/around-azeroth-if-this-is-paradise-i-wish-i-had-a-lawnmower/ - which is, indeed, an undead lying back in a field of flowers.
With regards to armory issues; could it be because the servers are down right now? I had a similar thing - all the stats on his Tumultuous Necklace were shown as "+0".

I took it as a reference to the character's 150 ranks of Herbalism.

Dude, where did u get that staff!! I've been looking for one that has that much stamina and intellect for my lvl 35 undead frost mage :( my staff right now is Odo's ley Staff and is 50-75 hit rating and I need to replace it. Any instance u got that from? Or battle points?
Fletcher Feb 3rd 2010 2:13AM
That's a BoA heirloom piece (as are his shoulders and chest items).

That's a really beautiful screenshot. Thanks for sharing.
