Icecrown Citadel raid weeklies activated

Tonight Anne, our new lore columnist, did the 25-man version of Securing the Ramparts, and she reports back that the frost giant (a special mob that appears only for the quest) was "friggen HARD" and that although they got it in a couple of tries, a PuG might have trouble. There was an interesting fight mechanic in the form of a disease debuff that must be passed to another player within 30 seconds, or else it kills the target. The original target is now immune for 30 seconds (no tagbacks, I guess).
The giant dropped no loot, but for completing the quest you get Sack of Frosty Treasures, which contains 5 Emblems of Frost, some gold, and a chance for epic gems. Has anyone else had a chance to try the new weeklies yet?

You get them from a random NPC inside the citadel. We got the rot giant one this week, and one of the NPCs you rescue at the start of the rampart after Deathwhisper gave it to us. I'd assume there's a different NPC for each one, but I don't know specifics for the other 4 quests.

Implies that its random across the ICC. For example http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=24877 says "we're fighting a war on two fronts up here, with the Scourge on one side and those blasted Alliance dogs on our other flank!" so it could be given after Deathbringer by Saurfang or someone else.

It wouldn't make sense if it was given after Saurfang. Why would we go back to the ramparts after we've killed Deathbringer?

Yeah I guess thats my bad.. but they are still spread across the ICC, you just have to find them. They are not in "one certain place".

Yup its random throughout the dungeon. We got one tonight on 25 man after defeating Valithria Dreamwalker (Respite for a Tormented Soul).

I haven't, but it's good to see another source of Frost emblems, and for raiders only even... Hopefully they'll cry less now about Heroics (well, the vocal minority that does. Most raiders I run with aren't complainers...).

Nice idea and I hope it keeps coming in future raids in cata maybe...
Really gives variation and new stuff to raid.
Now if only there was "100" of them or new ones every month to give even variation.. but hey, 6 weeklies aint that bad.. just my human nature of "must have more" getting onto me again.

My understanding is that each week ONE of these quests is selected randomly and is availible. Each one has a different NPC that gives it (and this NPC only spawns on weeks when the daily is availible) and they are in different places in the Citadel that probably correspond with goal of the quest.
Our server got the "Secure the Ramparts" weekly quest and it was given by an NPC who spawned and ran up to the party after we cleared out the first pack of Alliance trash mobs in the Rampart of Skulls area.

Yes, they do apparently - the one I completed tonight is listed as have two alliance versions, and two horde - presumably alli 10/25 and horde 10/25.

Someone in-guild got a Wodin's Neck in his sack of treasure. Seems like the chance for BoE IC epics is possible.

We got the weekly for Deathwhisper, we got it in one try with a guild run -- a PUG could do it but would have to be organized. One out of 25 got a BOE epic in his sack, a plate belt. The NPC to give the quest was right outside Deathwhisper's room, by the teleporter

ran ICC10 tonight, questgiver was before Deathwhisper's room. The Sack had an epic gem in addition to the emblems.

Ok it look like each RaidID (both 10 and 25 man) has its own weekly assigned; independent of server/battle group etc.
My guild went in on 25 man and cleared to deathbringer. We did not see any dailies. Our 10 man group just got done with Morrowgar and we found the Lady Deathwhisperer daily waiting for us.
