Lich King's loot table revealed
This is surprising: the entire loot table for the Arthas fight, on both 10 and 25-man (normal and hard, judging by the item levels) has just been posted to the Armory. Edit: the loot is also on Wowhead now, complete with 3D models. As tipster Micah noted, if this is really the whole loot table, it consists entirely of armor tokens, weapons, and Invincible's Reins (which is listed as a guaranteed drop on 25-man heroic). The focus on weapons isn't exactly new for raid end bosses, but it's interesting nonetheless.
I haven't had a chance to go through the whole list yet, but as far as I can tell, there aren't any of the nifty proc-based items we've been seeing elsewhere in Icecrown. It's pure stats on Arthas drops (though Alex points out thatthey all the 25-man heroic items have flavor text). Still, I wouldn't say no to a nice Tainted Twig of Nordrassil for my druid.
Which one's your favorite?

I like how the 25 man heroic gear has flavor text on it.

I like that there are officially zero elemental shaman weapons in 25-man ICC.

I like that the top gun in the game is a tanking gun. That's awesome.

I wish they would show them in 3-D :(
Leviathon Feb 2nd 2010 10:12PM

When i look at LK's loot table, 2 things come to mind:
1. Om nom nom
And
2. Whoa...
The end.
Hivetyrant Feb 2nd 2010 9:07PM
How did you manke those noises without drooling?
I can't seem too :(
Task Feb 2nd 2010 9:30PM
It was very difficult to not drool and stare in awe at all the loot especially the...

Sorry, my mind wandered off..

Funny that, because when I look at the weapons I think:
"Haven't I seen these somewhere before?"
Oh yeah, I have.
On Marrowgar.
Illidan/KJ get drooly-unique models. Arthas gets reworks of drops from the first boss in the instance.
I know this is QQ but, come on. The Lich King. The end boss. Reused models? Give me a break

^^ This.
It seems Blizzard really got lazy this expansion.
So, they took out attunements, is that an excuse to have 0 quests for Naxx, aside from the Saphiron heart thing?
And Ulduar just don't feel the same when the only quest comes from the healer weapon legendary chain inside.
I don't think attunements should have been removed.
I think they should've been simplified, to the point of "Do a solo'able quest chain, kill the last boss of 2-3 heroics for another chain, and do a summon-able, 10-mannable world boss."
I think that would make a fun atunement chain for naxx, and do a smaller one for OS, and let the heart be the one for Maly.
Do the same thing with ToC, UIduar and ICC and I would've been happy.
To stay on topic.
If all the bosses in a raid have to share weapon models, fine.
But just give the end boss unique looking loot.
The 2hander won't make people stop and think "Wow, that guys taken down the LK..."
It'll make people think "Hey, well atleast I know that guys competent enough to do 'Lord Marrogar must die!".

You'd think that a weapon of a being as powerful as the Lich King would be the bane of something a bit more significant than Troggs.

What does the flavor text on the crossbow say? It's Thalassian, something about the Sun.
Thalas'din Belore
Explodedsheep Feb 2nd 2010 9:39PM
Looking at the WoWWiki page on Thalassian, Quel'Thalas means "high kingdom" or "high home", and Quel means "high", so Thalas might mean "kindom" or "home".
I can't find the 'din part.
Belore means "sun", or "the sun".
So Thalas'din Belore might mean "high weapon of the sun" or something like that.
Explodedsheep Feb 2nd 2010 9:42PM
Wait, I messed that up.
Thalas would mean kingdom, or home. So there's home/kingdom, sun, and "din".
No idea what that means when you put it together.
Marcosius Feb 3rd 2010 5:52AM
It means "Kingdom of the Sun."

Is it just me or do Invincible's Reins look odd?
Requires Riding * 75 *
"Teaches you how to summon this mount"
75? Not 225 or 300?
No "This is a very fast mount."
Is it not Epic? Standard Ground Mount?
MisterMoose Feb 2nd 2010 9:14PM
Similar to the Headless Horseman and other newer mounts in the game. It undoubtedly scales to your riding level and any riding limitations in the area you are in.
If for some reason you only have a Riding of 75, then it will work as a +60% mount. If you only have 150, then it won't ever fly. If you have 300, then it will fly very fast in areas where that's allowed and only be a +100% ground mount where you can't fly.
Colin Feb 2nd 2010 9:14PM
I'm *guessing* it's similar to the Headless Horseman mount and the brooms, where the speed of Invincible is dependant on what skill you've purchased and whether flying is permitted wherever you are.
