This is surprising: the entire loot table for the Arthas fight, on both
10 and
25-man (normal and hard, judging by the item levels) has just been posted to the Armory.
Edit: the loot is also on Wowhead now, complete with 3D models. As tipster Micah noted, if this is really the whole loot table, it consists entirely of armor tokens, weapons, and
Invincible's Reins (which is listed as a guaranteed drop on 25-man heroic). The focus on weapons isn't exactly new for raid end bosses, but it's interesting nonetheless.
I haven't had a chance to go through the whole list yet, but as far as I can tell, there aren't any of the nifty proc-based items we've been seeing elsewhere in Icecrown. It's pure stats on Arthas drops (though Alex points out that
they all the 25-man heroic items have flavor text). Still, I wouldn't say no to a nice
Tainted Twig of Nordrassil for my druid.

So why the emphasis on stats such as ArPen when we are closing in on the stat changes of Cataclysm? I mean, this is the last big boss of content before the next expansion, why on earth is there gear like that dropping now? I guess they want you to speed through those 5 new levels. *sigh*

By the time you have 5 new levels to get, ArPen won't even be a stat anymore, so... I don't see the problem.
I mean, Cataclysm hasn't hit yet, so having endgame weapons without the stats that are getting cut in Cataclysm makes no sense - I presume Blizzard wants people to *use* the weapons they get from killing Arthas. Wouldn't you?

Arp is *the* stat for many dps classes, makes sense there is plenty of it on gear NOW. They can always change it to something else when Cataclysm hits.
These weapons are meant mainly for ICC farming and Wotlk use in general, it wouldn't make any sense to itemize them with Cataclysm in mind.. leveling is easy as heck anyway and they'll get replaced from in first raid instance at latest.

If you read a bit more you will also see that Blizzard have said that there are no plans to have Frostmourne as an attainable weapon..
Quite possibly because it may very well be destroyed.....

He was making a joke based on the un-veiling of frostmourne, the in-game weapon back at Blizzcon before Wotlk was released.
"Theoretical stats for Frostmourne as a World of Warcraft item were shown during the Lore Panel at BlizzCon 2007, likely as a joke. The quote on the item tooltip, "Hail to the King, Baby!", is a phrase popularized by Bruce Campbell's Ash at the end of Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness.
The developers said they were "still working the fine details" and that the Equip effect was "shot down by various powers-that-be" (illustrating the potential problem with a screenshot of the new Lich King, Private Ownusohard). However, they closed with "we'll get something to you guys, we promise."

For whatever reason, it is choking when I try to view it in Firefox, but seems to work find in Internet Explorer. Odd, really, I've never had a problem view Armory pages with Firefox before.

Will wow.com be running a piece on the lore behind the loot of the Lich King, explaining origins and flavor text and whatnot? I think that'd be really interesting. =)
Really cool stuff here. I lament the fact that I won't be fighting the LK any time soon, but pouring over the videos, loot tables, etc. is still a lot of fun.
