Lich King's loot table revealed
This is surprising: the entire loot table for the Arthas fight, on both 10 and 25-man (normal and hard, judging by the item levels) has just been posted to the Armory. Edit: the loot is also on Wowhead now, complete with 3D models. As tipster Micah noted, if this is really the whole loot table, it consists entirely of armor tokens, weapons, and Invincible's Reins (which is listed as a guaranteed drop on 25-man heroic). The focus on weapons isn't exactly new for raid end bosses, but it's interesting nonetheless.
I haven't had a chance to go through the whole list yet, but as far as I can tell, there aren't any of the nifty proc-based items we've been seeing elsewhere in Icecrown. It's pure stats on Arthas drops (though Alex points out thatthey all the 25-man heroic items have flavor text). Still, I wouldn't say no to a nice Tainted Twig of Nordrassil for my druid.
Which one's your favorite?

This made the lore geek in me wiggle some. They gave these weapons -meaning-, and it's fantastic. Each can be traced back along Arthas's trail from his rise to his fall, and it's wonderful and I'm so, so glad they did this. Illidan had this, to a degree, with things like Gul'dan's skull, Memento of Tyrande, and his warglaive's, but nothing to this extent, showing you just how much and how many Arthas has affected. Oathbinder and Mithrios have such greater meaning, even without the flavor text, than anything I think that's been dropped before. You don't need Frostmourn or Shadowmourn to carry around a piece of history, and the lore and rp geek in me goes squee.

Good thing I don't have to read anything.
Everything is a Hunter Weapon.
:)

STILL there's no weapon for Elemental Shamans (and other casters that can't use SWORDS)...
ICC is FULL of caster swords that are very well itemized, but all the other weapon types are loaded with either spirit and Mp5, and more often than not are spellpower/crit. There is a dagger on 10 man, but in the world of 25 man progression raids and hard modes, a 10 man dagger leaves me a little underwhelmed. Was there not enough room on his loot table for one more weapon? Did it HAVE to be a sword?
I was holding out on complaining about the state of weapons that my whole spec could benefit from, because the Lich King's loot table was my last hope. But seriously? I'm pretty bummed right now.

/agree.
Being a Caster DPS spec that can't use Swords is starting to feel like being a second class citizen; we're constantly having to remind Blizzard that yes, we exist, now stop it with the mp5!

I think i would like to take a huntard roll on that twig of yours myself

I love how there isn't a dps caster dagger/mace. Thanks for leaving the balance druids, elemental shaman and shadow priests out in the cold Blizzard.

And yet again we will use a weapon with +mp5 when dps :( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50734

anyone noticed the resemblance between "Troggbane, Axe of the Frostborne King" and Shadowmourne?
Ringo Flinthammer Feb 3rd 2010 11:10AM
All of the weapons are reused models.
Nawaf Feb 3rd 2010 4:06PM
Still, I didn't think they would use Shadowmourne's model. They should keep it unique.

I am really excited about these weapons, but I have one problem. All of the models are Northrend themed, by that I mean they are all Norse themes. I for one am a little bored with this theme, but that has nothing to do with my problem, why would they look like this? Antonidus's staff and the crossbow jump to mind first. Anotonidus was never in Northrend (as far as we know) so why would his staff have a Nordic appearance? The crossbow of Quel'thalas should be more elfish, instead it is just another Norse type skin.
I mean I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth often and usually try to look at both sides of my argument, but this seems like a big over sight on my part. IDK just my two sense, but if there is a lore reason I over looked I would like to know.

It is totally lame how the best in slot DPS weapon for a shadow priest, elemental shaman, and moonkin is a stupid HEALER mace.
