Around Azeroth: It's a long way to the top
A lot of people have waiting for their shot at Arthas (available today!), but upon seeing the Lich King's home security system, Kedria of <Whos Thrall> on Dalaran was somewhat disappointed. "You're telling me the Frozen Throne is on top of this thing?" she writes. "You mean I've been fighting and dying for all this time to get to the top of a pillar of ice? REALLY? Give me five minutes, some matches, and a few Flame Shocks and I'll bring this whole thing toppling down. Screw Frostwing Halls, we can all be on the beaches by tomorrow! Do you REALIZE how long it's gonna take me to get this frozen Festergut puke out of my fur?"
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

Those were my thoughts exactly. Who needs a raid? Get a 5-man of a fire mage, destro lock, elemental shaman,... and a holy paladin and priest for good measure. Lots of melting and smiting should do the trick.

Haven't finished downloading the patch yet and no raid until tonight anyway... do you get teleported to the throne or is there a ramp so you can climb around the spire like Arthas did at the end of WC3? Because going through the same path as he once did and then fighting him would be pretty fudging epic.

Why is the spire so much more narrow then in WCIII:FT, and where did the ramp go?

More of Blizzard ignoring continuity.
They said at Blizzcon the Frozen Throne rests at the top of the spire, as we know, and that the Citadel was built around it because of how important the location to Arthas was.
Cept' now, the spire seems to have melted down and is holding up the rest of the fortress like a support beam. /sigh
I was hoping we would actually have to climb round it as well, facing off many Enviromental obstacles just like K'T in the road to damnation.

On thing that kind of bugs me is that the interior and the exterior of Icecrown Citadel don't match up.
And not just in size (most raid areas don't quite match up in size, I mean, how big is Naxx?), but in shapes and locations. I mean, there's nowhere that I can find on the exterior (out of raid) that matches where you fight Saurfang.
It's a small thing, but it would have been nice if Bliz had polished that little detail.
And the reason I bring it up now, is that when you look up from Marrowgar (as I think the photo is), you see 6 walkways. But then when you get up there, there are only 4. (Unless there's another section we're skipping.)
