This is it. The final gates of Icecrown have been opened up. If you need help, we have
overviews and other resources to the encounters right here. While I'd guess that the majority of us aren't exactly competing for world firsts or even server firsts, progression is still progression. I know starting out that I had my own internal expectations of where our guild would be at and we've met them. We haven't cleared out all the new bosses yet but I know with time, we will be able to. Along the way, we managed to score a few unexpected achievements. I for one didn't recall going after
The Orb Whisperer. Anyway, some guilds take their progression seriously. In fact, I think there are a few out there who purposely used a lockout from the previous week just to have the extra time advantage to work on Valithria and Sindragosa.
What about your raid groups? Are you happy with how you're progressing so far? Did they surpass your wildest dreams or are you discontent and think you should be further ahead?

My 25 man raid group is currently at Professor Putricide.
Opala Feb 3rd 2010 8:20AM
10 man we've cleared everything available before frostwing, 10 man, we killed valthiria tonight, sindragosa down to 12% with 10 attempts left, we may just have the wrong strat but damn she is annoying in phase 3

Meh, my guild collapsed a few weeks before ICC was to release. A slow decline before that meant that we'd only made modest progress in ToC (completed 10m, but no hard modes).
I've been too busy to rejoin a guild. I should free up by March, but I'm a bit worried that nobody's going to have room for another tank.
Candina@WH Feb 3rd 2010 8:26AM
There are always room for tanks. :-)
Blacksheep Feb 3rd 2010 10:16AM
If you happen to be on Gilneas server, you are hired my friend, we need another tank, we run 10 mans and only have 3 geared for ICC, 2 of them are getting very tired and would like to DPS for a break every now and then. With every server you could be on, I doubt you are on ours, but if so, reply back lol.

Proudmoore, unfortunately. It has the same tank shortages as any other server, but with the added complication factors of being highly elitist and being PST (whereas I'm EST). Most guilds I see recruiting start their raids too late for me to participate, and though there's a great deal of pugging, it's incredibly picky ("LF Tank ICC10! Must have GS >9000, pst achievement or no reply").

My 10man guild is having terrible problems with getting enough people to turn up. We're 4/12 but since then it's just getting enough people online to progress. Somehow managed to 9man Marrowgar/Deathwhisper and 8man Gunship though despite having a couple huntards.
Tora Feb 3rd 2010 8:22AM
Failing at Rotface...
Shizukera Feb 3rd 2010 8:24AM
We aren't even in there. We got a very late start raiding (very small RP-focused guild, took a while to get everyone to 80, even now our roster tends to be a little ... loose) and while we've had Naxx/Sarth on farm for a while, we've yet to progress in ToC and haven't even touched Ulduar, let alone Icecrown.
And then Blizzard went and made me want to kill the Lich King. Darn you, Blizzard, darn you to heck! /doom

Cleared Dreamwalker in 25man last night, didn't pull Sindragosa because we wanted to get some practice on 10mans.
In the 10mans, we've also gotten past Dreamwalker and cleared all the achievements up to and including hers.
Candina@WH Feb 3rd 2010 8:25AM
Dunno. I can't raid anymore and it is beginning to bum me out. :-(
LF Casual raiding guild who raids Tuesday/Wednesday nights from 7pm to 10:30pm Server on Wildhammer US.
And who want either a GS 4800 Resto Shammy or a GS 4900 Disc/Shadow priest.
Notmusha Feb 3rd 2010 8:27AM
Our guild is simply content with doing heroics. Due to most of our professions we can't all be on to do any raids. The time spent on WOW is mainly knocking out instances, pvp, and general fun.
The times I have been in raids left me with disappointment. Since most of us don't use vent and most raids do they usually boot me out since chatting takes up to much time for most people.
Lornicide Feb 3rd 2010 8:44AM
At least IMO, you will find that most raids use vent.....it's not necessarily so that everyone can talk to each other, but mostly so the raid leaders and call out assignments (tanks/heals) and so that everyone will be able to respond quickly.
However, it also helps for everyone to be able to hear what is being called out, in the event that you are specifically asked to do something (get out of the fire, go assist character X).
Just install the Vent client and log into the server when the RL posts the login details. You don't even need a mic, you just need to be able to listen.
As for people "not having the time to chat"....that's kinda hard to do in the middle of a boss fight.
Just my two cents.
curtisrutland Feb 3rd 2010 9:27AM
Yeah, there's very little reason you shouldn't have vent. You don't need to talk usually, just listen. It's a free download, very easy setup for both Mac and PC. It's worth it to get just so you don't get kicked from pugs.
DragonFireKai Feb 3rd 2010 8:31AM
We're currently 8/12 in ICC 25, with Putricide down. In ten mans, we're 11/12, and looking to drop the Lich King tonight.
kvanje Feb 3rd 2010 8:33AM
Hitting a dps/healing wall with Festergut, and failing at ooze management with Rotface (10 man). We'll get there eventually.
Magefire Feb 3rd 2010 8:34AM
On EU server here so we didnt get our reset until this morning.
We have 25 man Rotface, festergut and princes down, working on Lana'thel before Putricide and Sindragosa.
One of our 10 man teams got Putricide last night :-)
@Notmusha- remember that Blizzard have an in-game (although rather poor if im honest) voice chat so you can use that if you lack TS / Vent :-)
watergem Feb 3rd 2010 8:37AM
We got kinda cock-blocked at Lady Deathwhisper. We're mostly a casual raid and people haven't been gearing as much since Ulduar (which we never fully finished). We're also very caster heavy, in fact no physical dps at all since we just lost our single hunter. We might be losing our other healer too.
It suchs, we did really well our first night, no wipes on trash and downed Marrowgar 2nd try. But then we hit Lady Deathwhisper and she has been the proverbial wall we're beating our heads on. So we decided to go back and do ToC10 and downed everything up to An00b in one shot and then got An00b on our 2nd try. O.o (previous attempts at ToC10 got us stuck on Faction Champs)
Its really frustrating, but people are feeling better. Some progress is better than *no* progress. We're also working with some of our members to get them into heroics for badges and such.
We'll try Deathwhisper again in a few weeks. We have a rogue that just hit 80 that we may try and gear to replace the hunter. We have an awesome group, just gotta catch up to raiding a bit I think. :)

Still in Naxx.... *cough*

Our guild doesn't even have 10 people. After 5 years of drama and guild breakups, I refused to have another guild where I didn't know the people in real life. So the only requirement for our guild is you know us in real life. Some of us just join other guild's runs. The delay in progression as individuals is worth the lack of drama 10-fold.
