This is it. The final gates of Icecrown have been opened up. If you need help, we have
overviews and other resources to the encounters right here. While I'd guess that the majority of us aren't exactly competing for world firsts or even server firsts, progression is still progression. I know starting out that I had my own internal expectations of where our guild would be at and we've met them. We haven't cleared out all the new bosses yet but I know with time, we will be able to. Along the way, we managed to score a few unexpected achievements. I for one didn't recall going after
The Orb Whisperer. Anyway, some guilds take their progression seriously. In fact, I think there are a few out there who purposely used a lockout from the previous week just to have the extra time advantage to work on Valithria and Sindragosa.
What about your raid groups? Are you happy with how you're progressing so far? Did they surpass your wildest dreams or are you discontent and think you should be further ahead?

Was on Rotface until I had a schedule change. Now I'm not sure I'll see the end of ICC, but hopefully our raid team will get there. Now that everything is open I imagine we can do a boss a week or so. That's typical progression progress.

Had everything on farm coming into this week and did the first 8 bosses last night. I oped to do all of our farm content but plague wing went a little slow. Tonight we should be pulling Arthas.

Killed Putricide a few times on 25m, working on the Blood Queen now.

Lana'thel gave us some problems on 25man first week out but we got her last week and I'm really looking forward to 1 shotting putri and queen this week then having all 20 tries for sindra and LK ^^

Festergut...This guy gives us the fist. We can't beat his enrage timer...30% more in 25 man and this beast is down...maybe this week with another round of loots we can down the beast.

Unless your DPS simply isn't up to the task, beating the enrage timer has a lot to do with execution. People who don't spread out enough get vomited on and disoriented, which nerfs DPS, for example.
One tip that might help, though it won't make up 30%, is your tanks doing as much damage as they can. I'm a paladin tank, so on that fight when I get my 9 stacks of the debuff and the other tank taunts, I drop righteous fury, hit my wings, and beat on him as hard as I can. I've topped 5k DPS as a tank on that fight.
Feral druids are particularly lethal - swap to kitty and that 90% damage increase makes you a star.
Each tanking class has a way of minimising aggro once they get the 9 stacks. I have seen tanks just stand there doing nothing in order to stay below the current tank's threat. That's a massive DPS reduction.
And lastly, minimise the number of healers you need for the encounter. If they are having trouble keeping tanks up when Fester has his 3-stack, have your tanks stack more effective health and mitigation. Avoidance isn't as much a priority in that fight as armour and health, because it is inevitable that the tank will get hit twice or three times in a row. They need to survive that beating.

Very cool to know...is there a specific vent to get? Website? etc... and thanks for the info!

We're, ummm, grinding for rep? That's about it.

We've completed the main entry into the upper spire and have killed festergut, rotface and the princes, but have been unable to down putricide or the blood queen and we have yet to step foot into the frost wing (but that will probably wind up being us taking down the first boss and not being able to take down sindragosa).
Hoggersbud Feb 3rd 2010 10:18AM
We killed Marrogar. Once. Since then we've failed what few times we've been back.
Note, this is a guild, individuals within the guild have gotten further on their own through pugs and other guilds.
Killchrono Feb 3rd 2010 10:18AM
My guild is currently 10-man only, and from what I last heard (I haven't been raiding due to other commitments) we've just downed Festergut and have almost got Rotface down. We can faceroll the first four bosses easy.
Jaq Feb 3rd 2010 10:29AM
Frustrated.
Wing 1 is down for us on 10 man, so much so we could be said to be farming it. But for various reasons (chief among them people in the guild who don't get how progression works and whine for spots in the raid when they don't have the DPS to do it) we never get a serious attempt on any later bosses. It's starting to irritate me.

25 mans:
first wing on farm.
rotface, festergut, blood council sloppy but can get it first try
prof can get after 5-10 attempts. its little stuff that snowballs into wipes.
have yet to down blood queen. we seem to be light in the dps department
haven't tried new wing yet, maybe will tonight

ICC10 - Working on Rotface.
ICC25 - Working on Festergut/Rotface.
FluffyBox Feb 3rd 2010 10:42AM
People always whine about 10 mans, so there is always 2 sucky groups instead of 1 good group (something about people not getting emblems, I don't care about gear, I just want to progress, *sigh*), so we have only got rotface and festergut down, all the other bosses seem to be "too hard" to some :/
In 25 man we never have time to get longer than killing saurfang.
We will probably change to being a 25 man raid guild only, and having one übergroup not guild-connected for 10 man to actually get somewhere.
Mordockk Feb 3rd 2010 10:44AM
We one shot basically everything so far but my guild has a HUGE PROBLEM AVOIDING MALLEABLE GOO.(25man) Sometimes I screw up while I'm on the abom because I stand there and watch people fail to move at bouncing gummi bears........./sigh
Have yet to try any tier bosses besides PP until we get him down. Losing out on badges is hurtin our ability to gear up and progress further
rtm_mike Feb 3rd 2010 10:47AM
We're currently dealing with having too many people that want to go into ICC 10, but not enough for 25. So we've been doing A-team and B-team runs for a couple of weeks. The problem is that the alt-runs aren't quite up to speed yet as only a few of us have alts that are as well geared as our mains. My tank is just barely ICC 10 ready, while my healer can handle 25, when we team up with a partner guild that's in the same staffing situation as we are.
The 10-man A-team has gotten to Professor Putricide, but the B-team is lucky to get past Saurfang.
Back to To(G)C to gear up alts!
L Feb 3rd 2010 10:52AM
Working on queen, got her to 4% last week /cry
Josin Feb 3rd 2010 10:53AM
Beating our faces against the Plague Wing and Blood Wing. Got Rotface down on 25s, and we've made some Putricide attempts in 10s.
Of course, last night, Saurfang was bugged like crazy. Nothing quite like being forced to fight him in Heroic Mode. On the bright side, we got him to 3% on our best attempt.
perderedeus Feb 3rd 2010 10:57AM
We just downed Rotface. It has been an excruciating few raids working on that guy, but we got it. We've been fairly rigid with our raid layout until Rotface... due to the continued close-but-failed attempts on him, we decided to do something drastic and swapped one of our three healers to DPS. It did the trick, we downed him fast and without any casualties.
Onto Putricide...
