Ensidia scores world first 25-man Lich King kill [Updated]
Last night was the world first 10-man kill, tonight it's the world first 25-man kill. The infamous Ensidia of Tarren Mill-EU has scored the kill, and there's a news post on their website confirming it. (Ensidia's site seems to have fallen offline, but you can still read their story via Google cache.) They walked away with Glorenzelg, High-Blade of the Silver Hand and Fal'inrush, Defender of Quel'thalas. Well done, crew!
WoW raiding is a bit strange these days, because this kill is actually just the beginning of the road. Now we get to watch the hard modes, which is likely to take quite a bit longer. That's our hope, at least. Will Ensidia walk away with hard mode Lich King as well, or will a group of underdogs come from behind? Will Stars show up in the spotlight again? Only time will tell.
Update: Ensidia's raiders have received a 72-hour ban from the game for "abuse of in-game mechanics or glitches with intent to exploit or cheat in World of Warcraft." A hotfix was applied last night to prevent the use of Saronite Bombs (which Ensidia used) in the encounter and Ensidia's loot and achievements have been removed. So that world first? Still up for grabs.

have you seen at leat a video of the encounter ?
If you see that the platform start rebuilding you can suppose that something strange is going on..
And if you are the n. 1 guild of the world that have a main tank that is well know for his ability to see everything is going on in the raid.....
Ravenforge Feb 4th 2010 5:54AM
And of course, seeing the platforms rebuilding, the all knowing main tank would have said "Wait... I see! When we throw Saronite bombs, the ice rebuilds! That's SO OBVIOUS! The siege damage is well known for rebuilding ice! Case closed, Sherlock Holmes wins again!"
Come on get serious

so how do you account for a bunch of eng power lvls very soon after their 10 man kill...isn't the armory fun...they knew, they exploited, they got owned...rofl
UncleDave Feb 4th 2010 7:42AM
Who are these so-called powerlevelers of engineering? Link their armory profile as evidence, please.

It's reported that the issue is LK 10 only.
If you look at Ensidia's 10 man kill, you'll see that the platform is totally missing.
By using saronite bombs, the platform should have been destroyed.
Now, that's the recap of events:
Fact: Blizzard KNOWS that rogues are using saronite bombs to max DPS.
Blizzard tests the LK encounter not as well as they should have done for a final boss of such importance.
Ensidia fight the lich king. They use bombs as they did on other bosses.
Bombs bug the encounter
Lich King dies
Ensidia are welcomed as heroes
Blizzard makes that statement of Saronite bombs
Ensidia admits using bombs as it's their standard
Raging envious nerds attack and yell "Ban! Ban! Ban!"
Blizzard then bans them. But this ban is not deserved.
Blizzard testers failed to test the encounter as a pro guild would have done, which means, using 100% DPS gained even through items.
It's been Ensidia, it could have been any other guild. Who knows, as the saronite bombs are so common in high end raidings, maybe other PRO guilds used the bombs, but still were not skilled enough to kill the LK? Well Ensidia were.
They are now paying for something they caused unwillingly and they're Blizzard testers scapegoats.

And now they got ban hammered.

Lets all talk about how innocent Ensidia was again.

Hello friends,
I got suspended today for supposedly and blatantly exploiting the Lich King encounter in 25-man mode. Here's the mail:
-----
Date of Violation: 03/02/2010
Character Name Involved: Muqq
Type of violation: Exploitation – Abuse of in-game mechanics or glitches with intent to exploit or cheat in World of Warcraft.
Details: Use of Saronite Bombs to bypass The Lich King fight mechanics Consequences for Account: Account suspended for 72 hours, all items and achievements gained removed
Greetings,
We are writing to inform you that we have had to place a warning on your World of Warcraft account and temporarily suspend it. It is with regret that we take this type of action, but it is in the best interests of the World of Warcraft community as a whole, and for the integrity of the game. The use of these items bypassed a major portion of the encounter, significantly reducing the difficulty in a clear abuse of game mechanics. After your suspension has expired, you will be able to access the World of Warcraft servers again.
Please note that should any further violations of our Rules and Policies occur, this incident will be taken into consideration when determining the consequences to your account. This could include further warnings, account suspension or account termination.
(removed the urls so i could post this since it only allows 3 urls)
Regards,

All I can say is Bwahahahahaha! Im a glad that a guild with ethics and morals will get the Worlds First credit now over Ensidia.

I doubt blizzard is so dumb to ban the world top guild only because a lot of people ask it...
Blizzard has log of everthing, so if they found that ensidia knowns the bug (someone who switched to eng. or some one in raid chat telling others "hey look at this useful bug..") a temp ban is deserved
also if this is true (quote)
"Its nice that they say that they didn't know, but fact is that they needed to hit the sides of the platform with the saronite bombs to get them back up (and that doesn't happen when you are dps-ing Arthas)."
they have really no excuses
Christopher Schmidt Feb 4th 2010 8:07AM
The did ban the members of the Ensidia raid for 72 hrs & apparently removed their achiev for world first kill.
Gnosh Feb 4th 2010 9:55AM
Well, there wasn't actually a "first" achievement in this case. They got the achievement for clearing icecrown, and the one for killing arthas, but the Server First FoS only applies to hard mode.
Deadly. Off. Topic. Feb 4th 2010 9:12AM
And it makes me think of the argument people had when the idea of "server firsts" was discussed and how a lot of people were boasting that it promoted healthy competition and other such merits.
All I see is unhealthy rushing competition which involves the use of exploits and bugs to get the title before anyone else could.

In Ensidia screenshot I even see some Disgusting Oozelings and many Pollinated players!
Thorlo Feb 4th 2010 11:07AM
i think its idiotic for blizz to ban them... i mean, its blizz's fault for the glitch anyway.. and they weren't cheating. They were the first guild to kill the king.. and always will be in my book.
