The best way to make sure you don't clip MF even if you are using quartz or another add on is through no channeling macros. I use them for all my spells so I can spam the next spell w/o having to worry about clipping MF which is even more important now since I got 4p T10 last week. Example
#showtooltip Mind Flay
/cast [nochanneling:Mind Flay] Mind Flay
or for MB for example
#showtooltip Mind Blast
/cast [nochanneling:Mind Flay] Mind Blast
someone correct me please if i have any typo's or anything wrong with that, didn't feel like logging back in to check my macro text :P

I use a similar macro for both MF and MS, though slightly different
#showtooltip Mind Flay
/cast [stance:1,harm, nochanneling:Mind Flay] Mind Flay; [nostance,harm] Shadowform
prevents casting if already casting MF, and puts u in shadowform if u r not already.
#showtooltip Mind Sear
/cast [stance:1,harm, nochanneling] Mind Sear; [nostance,harm] Shadowform
Similar to the MF macro, but MF only checks for it's self, this checks for any channeled spell. This means that I can MS till all but my target is dead and then go right into MF spam.

Why do you use a no-channeling macro AND Quartz? The whole point of using Quartz is for the latency timer. This allows you to start your next spell cast or channel client-side as soon as the previous cast or channel finishes server-side. If you use a no-channeling macro, you won't be able to start your second spell until the server tells your client that the previous action has finished, costing you 80-150 ms. This gives you absolutely no reason to be using Quartz at all.
